This trip is considered a full-day tour (usually). It is a 6-8 hour guided hike to the 2nd largest but hottest boiling lake in the world. The hike consists of a variety of different landscapes, rivers, hot springs, and fumaroles. At the end, a swim through the titou gorge is optional. It is a 5 - 10 minute swim through a beautifully carved slot canyon with a powerful waterfall at the end!

The hike is considered relatively challenging.

Boiling Lake

This is a 6-8 hour guided hike through the Morne Trois Pitons National park which leads to the 2nd largest boiling lake in the world. The hike consists of various landscapes; rainforests, and elfin forests and many natural attractions (Sulphur springs, rivers, and small waterfalls). The hike is relatively challenging.

This is an INCREDIBLE tour. Junior was an amazing guide. This was a very technical and long hike with amazing rewards. When the hike got challenging, Junior was there all the time to help make things easier, telling us where we needed to step and making sure that we were enjoying the experience. I would 10 out of 10 take this hike with Junior every time

Must do in Dominica! Junior is the best, immaculate communication, excellent arrangement, great attention and took good care of all ages and all experience levels. Small group, ideal for cruise passengers too.

This hike with Junior exceeded our expectations. The hike itself is litterally incredible, through the rainforest, rivers, waterfalls and fumaroles, until you reach the boiling lake which is pretty unique also. It is hard but Junior made us feel safe all the time and gave us lots of information about our surroundings as well as his country. He is also very friendly, a great guy!

The hardest hike of my life and my most favorite day of the cruise excursions. Learned a lot about the island and saw incredible views and experienced a little bit of the hot springs in addition to viewing the boiling lake. Then the swimming in the gorge at the end was the perfect way to finish the day. Definitely be aware that this hike does not allow for a lot of rest or break time!

This was such an amazing hike and we couldn't have asked for a better guide than Junior. He is super professional and knowledgeable.

Amazing hike through incredible landscapes, first through jungle, then through Desolation Valley with beautiful rock formations, boiling hot pools, fumaroles and steaming sulphur and then up to the boiling lake. And Julian was the best guide, he looks after you and is so knowledgable, not only about the wildlife and flora and forna of Dominica but also the history and its people. Probably one of my favourite hikes I’ve done yet, literally feels like you’re on another planet for parts of it. Doing this tour with Julian is definitely a must when visiting Dominica!

Incredibly challenging hike but the guides absolutely make sure you’re safe and okay the whole time. 100% worth it with otherworldly views and an amazing atmosphere. Just make sure you’re experienced and fit enough that you don’t get injured or have to turn around midway

Amaizing place with many different types of vegetation and rock formations. Great landscape and hopefully the cable car dont ruins everything in the futur. This hike is a long one but not as hard as some people make it sound. First half is just a walk in the rainforest then in the cloud forest. Second half start with basically a mud slide but someone was installing new steps to help out, then its canyoning, the fumeroles with boiling springs, more canyoning and finally a normal mountain walk to the boiling lake. Did it with a 8 yo kid but I would recommend 10 or above. On this hike, you will have to walk in water so if you dont like wet feet for four hours, you pretty much need full hiking waterproof boots or hiking sandals with a good grip.
Once in a lifetime hike!

Junior was a great guide!! He was really knowledgable about the hike and the whole island of Dominica! Had a great time with him during the hike! The hike is long! It took us 7 hours but has been great! Stunning views and the boiling lake at the end is really special!
