Three spectacular highlights in one sightseeing tour: 5 of the most spectacular viewing platforms in Austria, “5 Fingers”, only 20 to 30 minutes easy to moderate hiking one way from the top of the cable car station are necessary for an unforgettable experience. (In winter you need to have sturdy snow boots. With lots of snow special equipment can be rented at the cable car station.)!
The picturesque Lakes and Mountains district “Salzkammergut” and the extraordinary village “Hallstatt” at Lake Hallstättersee. The UNESCO Cultural Heritage Committee wrote: “… nature of extraordinary beauty added to scientific import …” Some guests say it is the most extraordinary lake village in the world.
It is a Small Group Minivan Tour (up to 8 pax/van). Each guest will be taken care personally!

Heading east from Salzburg City the first lake we pass is the emerald lake Fuschlsee!
A short stop high over St.Gilgen (a site from "The Sound of Music" movie). On the way to 5 Fingers and Hallstatt we go through the famous Lakes and Mountains district “Salzkammergut” passing by also hotel Schloss Fushl and the headquarters of Red Bull. Photo stop high over Lake Wolfgang and the Mozart village St. Gilgen .

5.00An excellent day out with Shiva as our guide. We were picked up on time from our hotel and driven to the five fingers stopping briefly to allow photos of the Red Bull HQ and also a beautiful lake en route. Shiva told us loads of interesting facts along the way. Once we got to the base of the mountain we purchased tickets for the cable cars to take us to the summit. Note that this is not included in the tour cost and was €49 each. Once we got to the top we headed straight for the five fingers which was well signposted and took around 15 minutes to get to. Once there it was wuite quiet so we had no problem getting on there and taking more pics. We were lucky to get our photos done quickly as shortly after getting there a cloud rolled in and the visibility became really bad. It takes around 30 minutes each way on the mountain and we had around an hour and a half up there. Next we took the cable ar back fown and went to visit the nearby Haldstatt village. This is truly a picture perfect town. We had two hours there and could have done with an extra hour to allow more time to get some lunch. Shiva gave some good recommendations on snacks to try whilst there. He really was an excellent guide.

5.00Trip was very good, the driver/guide was excellent proving a running commentary all the way. Mini van was full, 8 customers plus driver so a little claustrophobic for a long drive. There was a little ‘surprise’ at the end - a payment of €47.90 was required. Driver explained this was clear on the booking. Booking ‘exclusion’ was stated simply as ‘summer (dates) €47.90’. There was no indication what this was for. Apparently it was for the cable car. Clearer explanation is required to avoid the ‘surprise’ and ensure sufficient cash was on hand to pay.

5.00Our driver Fritz was a great guide, full of knowledge and stories. He took us to some really great places with amazing views. One thing we weren’t aware of when we booked was that we would be sharing the minivan with 7 other passengers

5.00It is a beautiful drive from Salzburg. The town is very adorable. I took the boat ride around the lake. It did rain while I was on the boat, but it didn’t last long. My brother took the tram up the mountain to see the views and the snow and he enjoyed it and said it was beautiful.

5.00Nice views quaint town. Rained so the cable car ride was bit do impressive and cost 48 extra Euros per person. Good experience. Very knowledgeable and friendly guide. Guide made sure we saw the best things and so willing to help take pictures and answer questions.

5.00Our experience on the mini van tour was excellent! Our tour guide ,Frietz - I think, was very informative and fun ! He made the amazing tour locations even better ! The cable car of the 5 fingers had spectacular views ! A must see !

4.00Nice tour to Hallstatt and the Five Fingers. Could have substituted about half an hour on the mountain for more time in Hallstatt or a couple of photo stops along the way. Additionally, it would have been nice to reverse the direction of the tour so that Saint Gilgen could be seen in the afternoon, as we were told that the fog blocking the views of the lake is quite common in the morning. Furthermore, the requirement to rent showshoes seemed like a bit of a cash grab, as they would have been unnecessary when we travelled (early April), but they were still fun and I don’t know if this is maybe something imposed externally on the tour operator? Still, got to see some beautiful sights in a convenient fashion with a good tour! 😊

5.00Our guide Fritz was really great! He gave us a lot of information and several recommendations for the rest of our stay. He is very friendly, attentive and has a good sense of humor. As we didn’t have much time in the area, this excursion was perfect to get to know a bit more about the area and enjoy a view of the mountains: 5 fingers was spectacular! Then a walk through the charming little streets of Hallstatt. We even had time to take an electric boat ride (30 minutes) to admire Hallstatt from the middle of the lake. We highly recommend this tour.
