Hierapolis & Pamukkale
Pamukkale, meaning “cotton castle” in Turkish, is one of the natural wonders of Turkey, a hillside of white terraces or travertines formed over thousands of years by the minerals bubbling up through hot springs feed from the depths of the earth. Start exploring the ancient city of Hierapolis, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The city is unique from all other ancient cities in being built not on earth or rock but on solid limestone layers formed by mineral rich waters that flowed for millennia over this raised level plateau. Hierapolis means “sacred city” and it was given this name because of the large number of temples located here.Today, the theatre, the Temple of Apollo and the Necropolis are among the most significant sites of interest in Hierapolis. During the tour you will see the Necropolis (Cemetery) of Hierapolis, one of the largest ancient burial sites in Anatolia; a Roman bath, the Gate of Domitian, the main street of the ancient city, the Byzantium Gate and the Ploutonion.

5.00Excellent guide - plenty of historical tidbits, and very punctual. Allowed enough time to explore the spots on our own as well. Waited for anyone who fell behind a bit. And wonderful included lunch. Highly recommended.

5.00Mert served as our guide during our visit to five of the seven Churches of Asia Minor (from The Book of Revelation), Hierapolis, and the hot springs of Pamukkale, originating from Kusadasi. Mert consistently demonstrated punctuality, professionalism, extensive knowledge, adaptability, patience, and an engaging demeanor. I was particularly impressed by Mert's profound understanding of the biblical significance and messages within the Letters of Jesus Christ to the Seven Churches, as well as the historical context of each location we explored. His awareness of recent archaeological excavations was also noteworthy. I especially valued Mert's recitation of the Letters of Jesus Christ at the ancient churches we visited. My sincere gratitude is extended. Upon my inquiry regarding the burial site of John the Beloved/Apostle, we were able to include a brief photo opportunity at this location, despite it not being on our original itinerary. The Ramiz restaurant and the Celikay Pide restaurants, selected for our lunches, provided delectable local Turkish cuisine, which was indeed 'lezzetli'. The provided van was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Our two drivers, Ali (on the first day) and Haydar (on the second and third days), exhibited safe driving practices and were helpful with our luggage. We extend our thanks to Mert and Ali for facilitating a stop at The Basilica of St. John, which was a truly meaningful experience. Haydar also demonstrated thoughtfulness and pride in his hometown of Pamukkale. This tour was a significant item on my personal agenda, and it has now been successfully completed. I am grateful for the two exceptional guides provided. 5.00Superb day, the guide picked us up directly in front of our hotel and accompanied us throughout the day. We learned a lot and had a lot of time to enjoy the site. The buffet restaurant was excellent! Thank you to the guide who was very kind and accompanying on this excursion!

5.00Both, me and my wife, enjoyed the tour a lot. Our guide was very friendly and helpful, sharing with us information about the history of the place. The guide was very entertaining, fluent in English and very caring for everybody in the tour to feel comfortable. The ride was smooth, taking you from place to place in a safe manner. The house of Virgin Mary was very well maintained and our guide made a great job bringing us in the history. The remaining of Artemis Temple was also great and very informative. So, if you happen to be in the area I highly recommend this company.

4.00This day trip was excellent. Mustafa was a great guide. He was very relaxed, gentle and knowledgeable and really went out of his way to ensure all participants had a great time. The lunch experience wasn’t great though and the stop at the onyx shop on the way back didn’t really add much to an otherwise excellent DAG.
