Killarney National Park

Staigue Stone Fort
The Staigue Stone Fort is a stone ringfort from the late Iron Age. Archaeologists have placed its construction, between 300-400 AD and believe it to have once been a defensive stronghold for a local lord or king. Construction on this large site must have been monumental feat. The fort walls are up to 5.5m (18ft) high are constructed completely of stacked stone without the use of mortar or other binding materials. Let us lead you up the terraced walls and into the corbelled cells tucked away by passages.

5.00We booked a private tour of The Ring of Kerry and a second day of the Dingle Peninsula with Mossie. Mossie has lived in Dingle his entire life making him most likely the most knowledgeable guide in the area. He took us on many back roads the larger buses cannot travel. He does not try to keep to a rigid schedule allowing everyone to take photos and enjoy the sights. Beyond all of this he is simply a quality man that you just want to spend more time with. His wife Helen was awesome with all planning coordination. Simply look no further if you want the very best experience out of Killarney.

5.00We have just had the best day with Helen touring the Ring of Kerry. What an absolute blessing to have this experience. Helen is from the Dingle area, and in addition to being an absolute pleasure to be around she is just full of historical information. I just cannot say enough nice things. Helen can really share interesting history, translate the local language and take you exactly to the best spots to enjoy the view. I felt so safe with Helen at the wheel instead of driving and wanting to look at the beautiful area at the same time. Definitely I recommend.

5.00We had the best experience with Helen and Mossie. Helen picked us up in Galway and drove us to Dingle. We stopped for a walk around Bunratty castle and folk park, then in Adare for Lunch. Drove through and stopped for the sights along Connor pass. Awesome to leave the driving to a local. When we got to Dingle, Helen drove us around the town, pointing out where the good food was. Mossie picked us up at our B&B two days later for a tour around the Ring of Kerry. We stopped at Inch beach, Killarney National park, had a chocolate tasting, glorious views of the coastline, and some car sing-a-longs. Being in a van with a personal, local guide was most excellent, Mossie knew the back roads, how to navigate away from the tour busses, and we never felt rushed anywhere we stopped. Mossie also arranged a driver for us to get back to Dublin. We have amazing memories from this trip, and can't wait to go back and explore some more with Helen and Mossie

5.00First let me say, there is no better tour company out there to hire to do the full day Ring of Kerry tour! We also did a half day tour with them of the Ring of Dingle. Both days, we had Helen as our tour guide. She is amazing! Warm and knowledgeable, with a delightful sense of humor, she gave us a thorough and amazing tour of these beautiful places. She is very easy to chat with and ask questions of, and she imparts her knowledge of her local and country's history showing the deep love she has of her wonderful country. We felt like we made a friend by the end of our time with her, and truth be told, we were a bit sad to part! We also had the pleasure of meeting Mossie as we bumped into him and the tour he was leading on 2 different occasions, and he is friendly and charming as well. Make no mistake, you will find no better people to give you a thorough and utterly delightful and memorable experience. Thank you Helen with great affection, Jody and Geoff!

5.00This all-day Ring of Kerry tour was absolutely amazing! The landscapes were breathtaking, from dramatic cliffs to peaceful lakes. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the day so enjoyable. Everything was well-organized and stress-free. A perfect way to experience the beauty of Ireland—highly recommend! You may even get lucky and hear him sing you a few lovely Irish songs. Best tour guide we have ever had!

5.00Mossie was a courteous and engaging guide on our tour of the Ring of Kerry. We were only in Kerry for a short time and during winter so the daylight hours were shorter but with his help we never felt rushed. Pick-up, rest stops, scenic stops, and drop off back at our lodgings were all simple and easy. He was an utter professional, knowledgeable, and ensured we had a wonderful day. We were able to fully enjoy the cliffs and views of Skellig, along with most everything else the ring has to offer, thanks to being able to safely access smaller roads. Would recommend him to anyone and can’t wait to return for an exploration of the Dingle peninsula!

5.00Mossie was our hero because he showed up last minute after a previously booked tour bailed and left us stranded. We’re so glad he did. He was the best! Diving the Ring of Kerry is not always relaxing, but not to worry with Mossie. He showed us all the amazing sights in complete comfort , explaining the rich history of the area , enjoyed a spiritual group at Staigue Fort and special service at Kerry Cliffs for a bad knee. He was considerate of our special needs, had us laughing and truly felt we were spending the day with a dear friend. A he’s a talented musician too. You will have a great day and meet a new friend

5.00Our family group of 7 ranged in age from 9 to 80. We were lucky enough to spend a full day tour with Mossie. He is a very popular and sought-after guide, and with good reason. He is a native of the area, but has traveled the world and is erudite about the world in general. Mossie is a natural story teller and made the history of Ireland entertaining and interesting to our varied age group. To top it off he sang a few Irish folk songs for us as were traveling along. He has a beautiful voice, and when asked, he admitted to singing local pubs from time to time. My husband and I are older and have been fortunate to have travelled a fair bit, we have never in our 40+ years had a better guide. Mossie is a pleasant, witty individual and we very much enjoyed spending the day with him. Thank you Mossie for giving our grandchildren a day they will always remember.

5.00Having Mossie as our guide for a three-day private tour of Kerry and Dingle proved to be the highlight of our entire trip to Ireland. His extensive local and historical knowledge combined with his flexible, easygoing approach allowed us to trust in his every recommendation, while still maintaining the ability to tailor each day to our own pace and interests (including seeing several sites that the big tour buses cannot reach). And his charming wit and sparkling conversation along the way made him a most welcome and memorable addition to our family vacation. It was truly a pleasure getting to know him -- I couldn't imagine touring Ireland with anyone else!
