Located at the mouth of the Montmorency river, the waterfall is 275 feet high which makes it the highest waterfall within the territory of the Quebec province, even 98 feet higher than the Niagara Falls.
Old Quebec
The Old Quebec is the historical heart of the City of Quebec which is the capital of the province of Quebec. In 1985, UNESCO declared the city a World Heritage. We will visit the Plaza Royal: the birthplace of French colonial history in North America and an important gathering place for local festivals. Petit Champlain: one of the oldest commercial streets in North America located in the oldest neighbourhood of North America. Cathedral-Basilica of Notre-Dame de Quebec: the oldest cathedral in North America with its baroque architecture with more than 350 years of history. Château Frontenac: a famous hotel located in Old Quebec that witnessed the Hundred Year’s War between France and England. It was named after Louis de Buade, the governor during period of the New France. You also have enough free time in the old city.

4.00Not a bad tour, but not one I would recommend. My reasons for booking a tour vs just doing it on my own are (1) information shared by the tour guides and (2) time saved navigating, looking for parking, etc. While the guide on the bus was nice and even humorous, other than a little history of a couple of bridges we went over, I didn't learn anything during the 3 hrs there or 3 hrs returning. Other than a restroom stop enroute, we only made two stops: (1) Old Town Quebec where we had a 1 hr walking tour, free time, then met at the boat and (2) Montmorency Falls which has it's own parking lot. So I only saved myself from finding parking once. In hindsight, I would prefer to have driven myself, booked a walking tour of Old Quebec City, bought a boat ticket, and visited Montmorency Falls. You can fit it all into the same timespan on your own just as easily as doing the tour. But if driving yourself isn't an option (or if you just prefer riding a bus), it isn't a bad experience.

4.00Excellent hotel pick up. However, our on board driver for the day was just okay. Asian/French/English…yeah, very difficult to follow his speaking delivery. Don’t bother with the cruise portion- again boring non-stop voice on-board of which we couldn’t decide when she was speaking French and back to English. Seemed not much to see. Maybe an evening cruise would be more interesting. Archibald/red umbrellas (meet up location) was delicious lunch.
