World's First Oil Well
Azerbaijani historians have found documents in Russian archives confirming that an oil well was drilled at the Bibi-Heybat field near Baku in 1846. This well can thus be considered the world's first, as it appeared 13 years before commercial oil production began in the US.
Bibi-Heybat Mosque
Bibi-Heybet (aunt of the stern) is a 'pir' located near the mountains of Baku amidst a vast cemetery. The tomb of Bibi-Heybet, one of the relatives of the Prophet Muhammad, is located in a vast mosque, very willingly visited by Muslims. Bibi-Heybet is famous for her miraculous power to heal the sick. Many of the Muslims bequeath to be buried near this mosque.

5.00Would recommend. Did 2 tours brilliant tour guides Riad and Sabina. Spoke great English. Both lovely personalities which made the trip even better. Extremely knowledgeable and interesting. Sights were well worthwhile. Excellent lunch included. This company also gave me best price

5.00A must do activity and highly recommended. There is a lot of history involved but its beautifully conveyed by Riad. Any other tour guide would have just spoke about history without even connecting to the group but RIAD is special. RIAD has a very nice way of conveying history and says its like a story. He makes it very interesting and his jokes brings smiles on everyone's face. I am not a history person but its because of Riad, I have got to know so much about the country. Riad is knowledgeable, smart and funny. The tour was well organised. The food provided during the tour was simply delicious. Not to forget the driver Mr Rusallam who also drove well and added to the fun during the tour. Riad continue the good work you do and specially for bringing smiles on everyone's face. You are amazing. A highly recommend tour

5.00Experience was great in terms of admission fee, length of visit, atmosphere, crowd size of 10, our guide Riad was excellent - lots of interesting facts and very educational in general. As a business traveller confined mostly to the city of Baku, it was a great opportunity for me to see the land. Mud volcanoes and flaming mountain were a bit of a disappointment as I expected something more grande. But it was still entertaining. Tempo of the tour was rather frantic, but come to think of it in retrospect - actually optimal in order to get it all done between 0900-1700.

5.00It was an excellent day in every way. The bus and driver were of a high quality. The schedules are fully respected. But above all our guide, Sabina, taught us particularly well about the sites visited but also the general history of Azerbaijan. Having a full command of English and a rich general culture, his comments were clear, precise and very informative. Finally, the general organization and the sites visited keep their promises and allow in one day to see a little more of the surroundings of Baku.

5.00Amazing tour, would not had been able to cover so much without such a tour. Riad our guide was super informative and knowledgeable, I learnt so much about the history of the country and sights. He also made effort to know his guests better and always full of energy and good spirited.
