Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa

Pompey's Pillar
It is a Roman Triumphal Column that is truly famous in Alexandria and it is the largest one to be built during the Roman empire to honor Emperor Diocletian. It was made out of one piece of red granite column and it is 20.75 meters long, 2.70 meters wide at the bottom of its base, and the width of the crown at the end of the pillar is 2.30. meters

5.00Our party of five went on the day trip to Alexandria with Egypt Tours Portal. We travelled by an air-conditioned ETP vehicle and we visited the Catacombs of Kom El-Shokofa, Pompey's Pillar, the Citadel of Qaitbay, and Alexandria Library. What a day! We packed so much in after an early start, but everything was organised beautifully and we had enough time at each to really take it all in. Our guide, Ahmed Elgohary, is so knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating and helped us to get the most out of our visits to these fascinating places. We had lunch at a restaurant overlooking the sea and really enjoyed our time there. I would totally recommend.

Emy was warm, friendly, and impressively knowledgeable about Alexandria — she shared fascinating insights and took us to all the best photo spots. Sayed was an exceptional driver; navigating the busy streets of Egypt with such ease and professionalism. I honestly couldn’t imagine driving there myself! Together, they made the perfect team and helped make our visit truly special. Highly recommend them!!

5.00While the day starts off very early it is so worth it! The tour guide Moses was full of information, answered my many questions but was also succinct enough that I never got overwhelmed or bored. He had great care with his interactions and his tour! If I ever come back I know who to find ☺️.

5.00We did a tour with Egypt Portal and it’s been great with our tour guide Ahmed Refaat. We explored the pyramids and Alexandria. He’s been very knowledgeable with his history on Egypt and broke down everything for us to understand. He also had a lot of humour which entertained us throughout the trip. The food was well organised, he went out him self to find us vegetarian food to ensure we all had a great meal. His choices were perfect! Will definitely recommend to family and friends.

5.00Egypt Tours Portal was excellent! They were well organized, extremely helpful with amazing guides and the hotels were amazing. I had a free day at the end of my 9 days and the guide from the day before, Ahmed Refaat suggested an extra tour for my final day. I woke up with a cold and he went right to a pharmacy and got 3 medicines to help me feel better...and he gav me a spectacular private tour, seeing sites I am so glad I didn't miss. He was beyond excellent and extremely knowledgeable. I would recommend this company for anyone wishing to take a great tour of Egypt.
