Our first stop in Subotica will be the City Hall, a towering landmark of the city. The exterior of the City Hall is adorned with intricate and delicate decorations, featuring luxurious elements of Hungarian Art Nouveau, including floral motifs made of Jonai ceramics and wrought iron. From the tower of the City Hall, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire city of Subotica.
Subotica Synagogue
We will visit the Jewish Synagogue in Subotica, built in 1902 and designed by the renowned Budapest architects Deže Jakab and Marcell Komor. It is the only Jewish synagogue in Europe that incorporates elements of Hungarian Art Nouveau. The interior is designed in a tent-like style, with bright and harmonious colors that evoke a sense of joy.
