It is located in the Gulf of Nicoya, 12 nautical miles from Puntarenas, Tortuga Island (called Tolinga by the indigenous people) has an area of 120 hectares and remains a protected forest; which, has enjoyed the Ecological Blue Flag for more than five years. This distinction is given to beaches in our country that have their waters free of contamination. Due to its geographical characteristics, its waters are turquoise in color and are optimal for swimming.
Our Catamaran has three different environments for your enjoyment: the main room with air conditioning, bar section and dressing rooms; Another area is the bow with a wonderful view of all the landscapes where we will sail; and, our upper deck, an area equipped for your rest; in which, you can enjoy a large jacuzzi.

1.00The overall experience was disappointing. The beach was extremely crowded, which took away from the relaxing island experience we were expecting. The drinks provided were noticeably watered down. Despite clearly specifying vegetarian dietary restrictions in advance, there were no vegetarian food options available. This was frustrating and showed a lack of planning and consideration. Additionally, the staff appeared inconsiderate toward non–Spanish-speaking guests. There was visible favoritism toward friends or people they personally knew who were traveling on the tour, which made the experience feel unprofessional and uncomfortable. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this tour unless these issues are addressed.
Just do it! A must!!!

5.00Amazing experience!! Get it all! Banana boat and snorkeling!! Guides were super professional even with the non swimmers- no one missed out!! We loved our guides and this tour!

1.00The postives: Tortuga Island is beautiful. Clear water and white sand. Also, the lunch they gave us was plentiful and tasty. And the banana boat was fun. But the positives end there. There were almost no fish when we went snorkeling. The light breakfast was a soggy ham and cheese sandwich. The brochure from our hotel promised “rum punch, margaritas, soft drinks and water all day long.”However, there was only rum punch and it tasted like orange koolaid and a touch of rum. You could only get 3 soft drinks a person. The brochure also mentioned an eco hike but that was not offered. We paid $160/adult.

5.00Casta cat tours provided a great experience. Beautiful beach, calm water. Great customer service. Good food and lots of activities to enjoy, lounge chairs included. Drinks flowed from the ride over, while on the beach and the sun set ride back, highly recommended for a stress free day at the beach.

5.00The guides are fantastic and bring around food and drink regularly. We saw lots of fish while snorkeling and the staff were attentive and safety aware. The lunch was fantastic with live music. The beach has white sand and the water is blue. They had lots of lounge chairs with umbrellas. The staff checked on everyone regularly to see if they wanted or needed anything. The boat itself had a DJ and a cool pool for us to dance in. We dance all the way there and back.

3.00This trip DOES NOT depart from Jaco. They will pick you up but it departs from puntaneras which is 1.5 hours north of Jaco. And make sure you notify them and communicate clearly about the pick up. By chance I caught it the day before and was able to coordinate properly. The boat ride was 2 hours each way and there were other tour boats that were much quicker. So from a 12 hour day we spent almost 7 driving and boating to the island. There are ones that actually depart from Jaco/herradura. And the boat is faster (30-45 min). On the positive side, food was delicious, crew was great, there was a little pool in the boat for hanging out, we were there about an hour longer than some of the other groups and their snorkel area was nice. All in all it wasnt a bad trip but I felt bamboozled by all the driving and 2 hour boat ride (each way). This is my second visit to the island. Different operator.

5.00Loved this tour! It is a long day but well worth it! All of the crew were amazing. They took their time to help anyone who needed assistance. The food, snacks, entertainment, and activities available (snorkeling. Banana Boat) were outstanding. Definitely recommend!

4.00My only complaint is the tour guide forgot to give us food and drink tickets which added a layer of stress to our experience. We were still able to get some food but missed out of the free drinks. Which I don't understand because he remembered us but said we still couldn't get any. I guess he thought we were trying to get extra tickets. Other than that, it was a great experience and a beautiful beach. The boat trip is long though. It was about a 14 hour excursion because the boat goes very slow and it takes about 2 hours to get to the island. But the boat ride was fun and the crew was very nice.
