Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park

Drive through the entry station of Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park. Park Entry Tickets are required to enter the park. These can be purchased online prior to your arrival or from your guide in the morning of your tour and are valid for 3 days.

As you start your sunrise trek around the 12-kilometre full base trail of Uluru you will gain an understanding of the culture, geology and environment that is the essence of this monolith. Your guide will tell the cultural (Tjukurpa) stories of Kuniya (woma python) and Liru (venomous snake), and many other Aboriginal creation stories associated with this central Australian icon. Along the trail you will witness sunrise, visit waterholes and the rock art sites of the ancients and learn of Uluru’s cultural significance to the Anangu (local Aboriginal) people.

Very nice trek, well organised, punctual. Flat surface so not challenging but fast paced so medium fitness level is recommended. Our tour guide Lucy was very friendly, engaging and knowledgeable. Breakfast was nice and included hot water to make tea, coffee or hot chocolate which was appreciated. Layers are recommended in the cold months.

It's a great experience, we were slightly disappointed we couldn't take photos on sunrise over the rock as we started in a culturally Sensitive area, but overall nice, the only other complaint was the walking pace to start with was very brisk

Interesting hike around base of Uluru. Our tour guide Trent was very respectful of the rock and its significant to local indigenous people. He set a reasonable pace for the 12k/7.5m hike and stopped often to share information. A simple breakfast was provided in trek bags that we carried.
