Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park
Drive through the entry station of Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park. Park Entry Tickets are required to enter the park. These can be purchased online prior to your arrival or from your guide in the morning of your tour and are valid for 3 days.
Uluru
As you start your sunrise trek around the 12-kilometre full base trail of Uluru you will gain an understanding of the culture, geology and environment that is the essence of this monolith. Your guide will tell the cultural (Tjukurpa) stories of Kuniya (woma python) and Liru (venomous snake), and many other Aboriginal creation stories associated with this central Australian icon. Along the trail you will witness sunrise, visit waterholes and the rock art sites of the ancients and learn of Uluru’s cultural significance to the Anangu (local Aboriginal) people.

3.00They make the breakfast sound like a breakfast. In Africa we hiked to a set up breakfast. In this trip we were handed a pouch full of snacks called breakfast that we carried the whole hike. They didn’t tell us that we really needed fly masks because the flies were terrible nor did they have them to give or sell to us. We did receive a large email the night before the hike that mentioned fly masks in it but that email did not arrive until the middle of the night, so we (as most of the people on out trip) did not see it. They should really be stressing this to visitors and not burying it in one email the night before. That being said, the guide (Graham) was wonderful. His story telling and explanations were right on the money. The walk itself was great. It is not for all, as it is close to 8 miles mostly in the sun and we had one person not really physically able. I would definitely do this but would be better prepared if my review would have been one I had previously seen.

5.00The full base walk was the best of all the wonderful experiences we had at Uluru-Kata Tjuta. It is an extraordinary place and, while views from a distance are spectacular, for me, I wanted to touch and smell it, see the caves, the waterholes and the rock art and hear about the lives of the Anangu people. True, it was an early start but it meant we saw the sun rise and, most importantly, got ahead of the heat. I was impressed with the detail of information provided - mostly around cultural significance but also some information from a geological perspective. The walk itself is very level and smooth - not hard-going at all. But 12 kms is 12 kms so you have to be ready for that.

4.00The guide was extremely professional. Supergood in all respects. She gets full point. However the information about preparations was too thin and shoild have included information about the length of the basewalk and also recommendation to wear a net for keeping irritating flies apart from the face.

5.00Wonderful experience with our tour guide Lucia! We walked around the base of Uluru in a small group of six persons and our guide. She was able to tell all kind of interesting facts and stories about the local tribe and Uluru it self. She made it an entertaining and interesting experience. I can recommend this tour with her to anyone who is interested in Uluru and wants to a good walk (12km).

5.00The sunrise walk tour was amazing. Our guide - Lara, was very knowledgeable about the geology of Uluru and the history. She explained many stories of the Anangu people and connected this to areas of the rock. Regular breaks and 'check ins' were appreciated and the small group size made the tour more pleasant. The breakfast was adequate but I would supplement with a little of your own to last the five hours. Highly recommend for those that wish to explore as much of Uluru as you can.
