Our tour was Thursday April 17 (Celebrity Ascent) The tour guide Ricardo was without a doubt the best tour guide that I have had.. and I've been to 38 countries. Now for the family of 10 that was also in our tour van... were the most rudest, inconsiderate, obnoxious and all around 'bad human beings' I have seen on a tour. Ricardo tried his best to explain all the sights and history of what we were driving past but this family did care and just talked very loudly amongst themselves an we could not hear a word Ricardo was saying. He tried his best to explain to them and me and other passengers asked them to be respectful... to no end. They were speak Portuguese (Brazil/Spain) and the men were yelling rudely at their wife's, children and the elders in the group. We got to the last stop Maho Beach @ 2:15 when Ricardo said that we would need to leave by 3:15p to make it back to the ship in time 5:30p .. due to traffic. The rude family said that was not enough time for them and insisted on staying until 4:30... Ricardo said that was too late.. and the family walked off. When we returned to the van by 3:15 the family was not there.. in fact they were in the hotel pool swimming and eating lunch. Ricardo went to talk to them .. again... but came back to the van... head slumped down and looking defeated. He said they just wouldn't listen to him. We felt terrible for him. So we and 4 others that were on our same boat took a taxi back to the ship because Ricardo could not just leave the family because he would get in trouble. We didn't mind at all and our hearts ached for him. Long story long.. Ricardo was right about the traffic... we made it back with 10 minutes to spare before the ship disembarked. The family of 10 were on a Royal C, ship that left at the same time as Celebrity but I have no idea if they made it back in time........ and frankly....... Please listen to your tour guides suggestions... they know. Thank you Ricardo for everything.

This was so fun! The island was on holiday. Easter Monday, but there was less traffic! We hit several beaches, I met other travelers, and it was a great time! Stopped at shops, had fun at Maho, got to feed iguanas, see the island from all around. I loved it! Have drinks on the way, great time! Or driver, was loads of fun! Must do!

The excursion looked great when we booked it but it wasn’t. We were picked up at the port and about 45 minutes into our departure we were returned to the port to pick up four people and then continue. We were dropped off at a wonderful beach with the assurance we would be picked up to continue. I am disabled and the driver knew it. So there we sat waiting for his return in vain. Finally after an hour trying to reach someone, we hired a taxi to take us back to the ship.

Our guide, Freddy was very nice and feed us with a lot of detailed history of the island. The bus we went on tour was clean and comfy. A fun day

Overall, a bad beach day is a great beach day. Ask for the local tour operator to get to the pick up point. The day was windy, so our driver, George, told us to be prepared to be sand blasted. We were. Going beach to beach, we were blasted by the sand. Hard to relax on the beach. Once we got into taking pictures and having fun, it made for quite a memorable day. Naked pictures on the nude beach. Watching people get blown in the water by jets taking off at the airport. Taking pictures under the jets coming in. Tip-put your phone in water proof case. While taking jet pictures, we were swept down into water by a big sudden wave. There went the phone into the ocean. People were quick to help us up. A young gal found our phone. All we could do was laugh and enjoy the memory. Side note-the phone survived much to our surprise!! A bad beach day is another great beach day.
