Cristo Rei (Jesus Statue)
Located at Ponta do Garajau, the Cristo Rei Viewpoint offers a unique perspective over this Natural Reserve. It owes its name to the majestic statue built on this site in 1927. The Cristo Rei Viewpoint owes its name to the statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus built on this spot. It is an imposing sculpture of Jesus Christ, with open arms, facing the ocean.
Miradouro Pico Dos Barcelos
The large valley that serves as a natural amphitheatre for Funchal, on one side, and the calm sea that bathes the south coast of Madeira, on the other: this is what you can see from the Pico dos Barcelos Viewpoint. This observatory is at an altitude of 355 metres and is ideally positioned for visitors to enjoy peaceful views of Funchal's urban landscape, particularly its bay.

5.00An excellent way to get a sense of Madeira beyond Funchal. Pre-tour communication was excellent and the cruise ship pick up super convenient. Diogo proved highly personable, informative and accommodating. We’ll definitely employ his services again when we next visit.

5.00This is a great tour. Diogo was amazing, patient and very knowledgeable. Thoroughly recommend this tour- you won’t be disappointed. The weather wasn’t on our side but we still had a great time and got to see a lot of Maderia.

5.00A wonderful day. A great guide! We took the East island tour today. Lots of beautiful sights. Driver/guide spoke perfect English and knew all the quickest ways to get to the sights. I’m looking forward to my next trip with Diogo.

He was very informative and told us many facts about Madeira and was such a safe driver. He was very friendly and we really recommend him if you want the best guidance around Madeira! 5.00This was a terrific experience for 7 people. We were picked up at the pier according to schedule, and Diego was quite responsive to all questions before the tour. He is personable and very knowledgeable about Madeira, and gave us the opportunity to modify the tour as desired. The van is comfortable and well maintained. If you have a chance to tour with Diego, don’t hesitate! You’ll have a wonderful excursion.

5.00Diogo picked us up six girls directly at the cruise ship and gave us an unforgettable day in Madeira. Being a local, he told us an incredible amount about his homeland – real insider information that you wouldn’t otherwise get. He took us to the famous sleigh ride, made a great video of us there and was attentive and helpful all the time. At my request for lemons, he even got us local fruit, which we could taste together – just great! 🍋🍍 After that followed a beautiful sightseeing tour, also to the fishing village. Diogo is a very nice, polite, courteous, funny and friendly guide. We can recommend it 100% and give it a clear 10 out of 10! Thank you for this great day in Madeira!
