Chinggis Khan Statue Complex
The gigantic steel equine statue mounted by Genghis Khan himself is the largest statue of an equestrian in the world. This 40 m tall statue is located on a hillside on the bank of the Tuul River in an area called Tsonjin Boldog and connected to capital Ulaanbaatar by 54 km paved road. Tsonjin Boldog was chosen according to the legend that Genghis Khan found a whip in this area. In Mongolia, people believe that man finding a whip is a sign of fortune, good destiny, and occasion. The statue faces east, the direction of Genghis Khan's birthplace, and the sunrise. If you stretch your eyes to the east, you will see a small statue of his mother greeting him.

4.00My husband and I had a great day. Bati was an excellent historian and skilled driver who spoke good English. We set out to do all the things listed in the program. However, the food in the photo is misleading. You don't get to eat all those. I had buuz (beef dumplings) and that was all they give me. It was also disconcerting that I did not receive any information before hand. I wasn't sure if the tour would happen. I had to contact them every step of the way.

5.00We had an amazing tour of chinghis Khan statue where our guide gave great explanations of the history of chinghis and the mongol empire and answered all out questions on just about everything related and also offers lots of interesting insights. We then had an amazing lunch in a ger and climbed turtle rock which offered beautiful views of the landscape. Finally we went to the meditation temple which is beautiful and serene and offered many picturesque vistas. Our guide was very friendly and willing to take many pictures of us and the whole experience was amazing. Definitely a must do if visiting UB.

5.00Great experience, beginning with prompt pickup at hotel, time in the car with tour guide with opportunity to ask questions and discuss culture. Great perspectives driving out into countryside to the Chinggis Khan complex. Experiences at complex were included in the trip cost: camel ride, holding eagle in gloved hand, donning costumes for photo ops, entrance fees. National Park was enjoyable. Climbing Turtle Rock was a memorable challenge! Meal in a yurt with traditional food and drink available for purchase. Guide was fluent in English.

5.00This was a fantastic day trip from Ulaanbaatar. The whole experience was fantastic from start to finish, although there was some initial confusion about the pick-up time from my hotel. My guide was extremely friendly and lively, making the whole trip full of energy and excitement to see and explore everything. He was very passionate about Mongolian history, and he was able to bring it to life when we were exploring the museum at the statue complex. Similarly, he was fantastic for taking photos and videos for me – I was very appreciative of this! You get to handle a Mongolian eagle briefly – just for photos, and then ride around the statue complex for a short while on camelback. We were quite lucky that we were also offered to have a go at some archery with a Mongolian-style bow, which was a lot of fun! We had lunch in a yurt a short drive away where there are lots of yurt restaurants, and we had a decent meal to make sure we had sufficient energy for hiking later! The trip to Turtle Rock was fun too. Although it was quite cold (particularly because it was a bit windy!) and a little slippery in some places, the guide helped find a good route up the rocks to get a nice viewpoint and also shelter from the wind once up. There are a few tight spaces into which you can go, and we did try, but it was a little tough because we had thicker clothing and layers, so it was tighter than perhaps it would be if you went in warmer months. The hike up to the monastery was not far from Turtle Rock, and the views are absolutely spectacular. This was perhaps my favourite part of the day; the sun was setting behind the mountains, and you could see so far. The monastery itself is famous for being a space for meditation, and was very pretty. It actually houses a statue of the mummified meditating monk that was discovered in Mongolia as well. I 100% would recommend this day trip to anybody visiting Mongolia.

4.00its worth the money!( i would have given this 10 stars.. On the morning if, they had vehicle troubles..the back up vehicle was a small sedan! we had 7 people in that car.. NO fun at ALL..their back ip vehicle shouldnt make us suffer)viator is ridiculous for making you type at least 100 characters! it ridiculous!!!
