After a hike through an alien-like glacial tundra, we will arrive at the edge of the glacier where your guide will assist you in putting your crampons on. We will explore ice caves where your photographer will capture you inside these natural wonders. Once through the lower cave, we will gear up for our hike on the glacier. With crampons on, you will hike to many different formations on the glacier including our famous crystal crevasses. The visuals you will see all around you will create an unimaginable experience as your photographer captures you amongst it.
We are the only tour company in Iceland that offers photo packages along with the smallest group sizes of any glacier tour operator. Every glacier hike through Ice Pic Journeys includes photos from your tour. Each person will receive 5 professionally edited photographs sent via a Drive within the 14 days after your hike. These will include the iconic Blue Ice Cave photos.

5.00An absolute amazing experience and all 3 of us loved every minute of this tour. Kristoff our guide was fantastic I would highly recommend him. Our tour was due to end and Kristoff extended the time so we could see his favourite cave which was worth the wait. Thank you so much this was more than we expected.

1.00Ok. First, the tour we booked was changed twice. First due to needing to change locations for ziplining. No big deal, we just ended up needing to do a tour that didn’t include that (we would’ve had to drive two hours backtracking.) Then, they swapped our tour to “upgrade” us to a 5 hour one, rather than three. Ok, great. Then, we were called that it would depart an hour later, no problem, we knew pivoting due to weather, etc would be necessary here. Here’s where it becomes a problem. We arrive to the meeting location, which was literal chaos. No signs, no guides with the actual business logo anywhere on the. We finally heard someone yell “Ice Pic Journey” so we headed over there. Then he said he was handling two different companies so he needed to know who we booked with. After checking in, more chaos before getting into the super jeep - which is a white van with big wheels. We did the Glacier Hike + Ice Cave Adventure. Every picture for this tour shows you on the pretty white area of the glacier. I figured the cave at this time may not be the prettiest (October, even thought their photos represent it ALWAYS being blue and beautiful), but never did I ever think the “glacier hike” would only be through the ashy slush the ENTIRE time. This company completely 100% misrepresented what to expect on this tour!! Everyone in the group was asking why they aren’t on the white glacier like the pictures, etc. If it IS because of the time of year, they need to put seasonal photos so people understand what they are getting. We took a tour with a different company the day before and thank GOD, they delivered on what they advertised. The beautiful part of a Glacier! So the argument that it’s because it’s this time of year isn’t really an acceptable answer. Not only do you hike gray ash area the entire time, but the tour suggests you get headlamps, ice pics, and can fill water bottles from the glacier at “many areas on the hike.” We got none of that. When someone asked the guide about filling a water bottle with glacier water, she literally said “I would not drink on this tour.” - Everyone was so disappointed about everything on this tour. It’s extremely disappointing and disgusting how they misrepresented it. The tour guide gets the star as she was nice, and did her best. She gave bits of information regarding the glacier and kept everyone safe. She knew everyone was upset though, and had to field multiple questions regarding the differences in what people expected vs what we were getting. I actually felt bad for our guide, you could tell she was disheartened because she couldn’t help it. They offer nothing in return after the misrepresentation, so I will be contacting my card company regarding it, and will make sure to tell people about this. Many people spend lots of time and money to adventure here, and this could really ruin it. Do better Ice Pic Journeys.

5.00Our guide, Julien, was excellent. After a short 4x4 ride to the starting spot, he took us along the glacier to a bowl that we climbed into. The scenery was amazing. We went into a few caves. Had a great time!

4.00Julian was a great guide, it wasn't the trip we originally booked as the weather meant the zipline wasn't running but really good alternative. Only didn't give 5 stars as several time changes we had to work around
