The tour begins with a short kayak trip of 30 minutes over this idyllic lake, providing perfect photo opportunities and a chance to try kayaking in perfect glacial surroundings. Once we are on the other side of the lake, we have a walk to the ice (approx 45 mins). On the walk up to the glacier, the guide will explain glaciers, how they work, where they have been and local history. Once at the glacier, we put on the crampons and rope for the glacier walk and spend two hours exploring the glacier at our leisure. This kayak and glacier hike tour is perfect for families who visit in May/June until we begin tours on Styggevatnet in July. Then you have an option to take the Glacier Half Day Tour on Styggevatnet. We meet at the Breheimsenter for this tour. You follow the Icetroll vehicle to the lake and on the way there is a toll of 90kr, to be aware of. You can pay for this up to 48 hours after the trip, by going onto the website advertised on the sign at the entrance to the National Reserve. Can’t wait to see the glaciers? We thought so. The young people who escorted us on the slippery boulders were kind and cheerful. They kept us safe. And we had fun. Their patience and good humor with our entourage of 70-80 year olds are commendable. I would go anywhere with them!!! Tato, Tori and Kale

Kale was an excellent guide! Great views from on top off the glacier. Being all the clothing they recommend. It can be cold up there.

The kayak, hike, and glacier hike was the highlight of our Norway vacation! I can't praise our guides enough for the care they took with my wife when she was getting anxious about the glacier hike part of the experience. Their focus on safety and how to use the climbing gear was perfect. They were fun guides and did an outstanding job. The beauty of the glacier and the lake was incredible. I would book this again.

We kayaked across an aqua blue glacial lake, then hiked over rocky, other-worldly terrain before hiking up the glacier itself. The views and environment were incredible throughout. The guides—Cale, Marcello, and Tonya—were experienced and professional. They took time to talk with everyone in the group, learning where people were from and making the experience feel personal. They managed a mixed group that included kids, 20-something friend groups, and older individuals all while ensuring everyone was comfortable and included. I was initially unsure about hiking on the glacier, but the crampons made it surprisingly easy. The pace was reasonable and the experience felt safe, but it was still exciting and unforgettable. Cale took photos of each family or pair at a few points throughout the day, which was a thoughtful touch. This was our first glacier hike, but it won’t be our last. I would highly recommend this tour.

I recently had a group that did a tour with Kale and his crew. They did a great job under some difficult circumstances as the weather was bad and some of the group members were a bit old and out of shape. They made sure everyone was safe and all made it to the glacier. For many in the group it was a exeperience of a lifetime getting the chance to kayak on a glacial lake and the walk up and go on a glacier. If you do visit this area, it's definitely worth it to go with Ice Troll

This was a phenomenal experience in nature made 100 times better by our absolute top notch tour guides - Cale, Marcell and Tanya were funny, informative, clear and made the whole experience fun and safe. If you have a day to dedicate to this tour I’d highly recommend.

It was a super cool experience and well organized! Nice balance between kayaking, hiking and hiking on the glacier. Good to do for everyone. Our guides Marcelo and Kale knew a lot about the glacier and tried very hard to show us the highlights. Superdag!

We were very apprehensive about hiking on a glacier with small kids, but the Icetroll team made us feel very comfortable at every step and made the whole trip a memorable lifetime experience. Our guides Marcelo and Tanya were super cool. During the kayak and hike, Marcelo made sure that we were safe and comfortable walking up the glacier. The hot chocolate drink at the top was fantastic. Albeit being slow with kids, the rest of the group were very accommodating and we were able to complete the whole trek. I'm sure that this is one of those lifetime memories that we will carry for many years and thanks to Marcelo and the Icetroll team for making this possible. For families like us with kids who would like to experience the Nigardsbreen glacier hiking , I would highly recommend the professional and experienced team of Icetroll.

What an amazing experience. Our guide Layla was very friendly and took the time to explain things. First with the kayak over the lake and after a short walk on the ice. We were also very lucky with the weather. Recommended!

Nature of Glacier is one of my favorite and not many countries on this world allow you to walk on it. And this tour is absolutely amazing! Guide Cale and Laila is wonderful, professional and very informative. Even today is a cold rainy cloudy day but still is one of my best day ever!!
