Stirling Castle
your day begins with your Greenock shore excursion heading through to ‘Braveheart’ country, to visit Stirlingshire and Stirling Castle, arguably one of Scotland’s most important fortresses. Below the Castle, the Old Town of Stirling is still protected by its original walls, built in the 16th Century to protect Mary, Queen of Scots from Henry VIII. Here we will stop to enjoy time to tour the castle, learn all about the exploits of Robert the Bruce and the infamous Scottish Queen, and enjoy refreshments at the castle’s charming café.
Aberfoyle VisitScotland iCentre
In the heart of the Trossachs your shore excursion will make a stop at Kilmahog to maybe see some highland cattle up close. We then journey to the village of Aberfoyle located just below the Highland faultline, to enjoy a bite to eat and time to explore.

We enjoyed this experience. Michelle was a good guide. My only complaint is the beginning of the trip was very chaotic. When we tried to get on the bus no one was holding the sign and several groups walked past to the bus and had to walk back to the port to find out what we were supposed to go.

Overall this was a nice tour. I appreciated that this was a ship to shore excursion - very convenient. The company was timely and well organized. Our guide, "Wee Davie," was very friendly, funny, and quite knowledgeable. His Scottish accent was very thick and it was often difficult to understand what he was saying. The visit to Stirling castle was lovely. I appreciated that tickets were purchased (by us) beforehand and the guide/driver could collect the tickets for the entire group. This prevented bus loads of people waiting at the ticket counter. We did make a quick stop to feed carrots to a Highland Coo and take pictures. That part was very rushed. We did get to stop at Loch Lomond. I was a little underwhelmed....probably because it was rainy and I didn't expect to see a shopping center on one end of the loch. However, it was a nice place to stop and get a quick snack and cup of hot chocolate. The commentary while driving through small communities and towns was quite informative. For a larger group tour, it met my expectations.

We had a great tour with Timberbush tours. Our guide met us in a kilt and strong Irish accent. He amazingly drove both the large tour bus and narrated the tour. The day ran smoothly and the timing of each stop was perfect. Per their recommendation we bought Stirling Castle tickets ahead of time. We were so happy we did as it was an amazing castle. There was a free one hour guided tour. We left the tour early and walked down the stairs at the edge of the parking lot to a cute little pub for a quick lunch and drink. The highlight was a quick stop to see the Highland Coos which was the one thing I wanted to see in Scotland. We also stopped in Aberfoyle for a stop at the Scottish Woolen market with a shopping stop. The only stop that was just ok was Loch Lomand. It was actually just a peek at the loch will a giant shopping mall. We loved the hot cocoa and donuts at the little food truck outside. The day was very enjoyable and the scenery gorgeous. I would recommend this company and trip.
