• Private island snorkeling is wonderful

  We went to this very small private island. Most went off to do the snorkeling. I brought my own gear and snorkel around the beach. Water was wonderfully clear. We loved it. We bought lobster, chicken and ribs from the BBQ pit. All is well. This is a must do activity.

  Unfortunately we didn’t get to Goff!s Caye because they need a minimum amount of people.We ended up going to Caye Caulker & snorkelled. Captain Mark, his son Junior, Jose & the female snorkelling guide were awesome. It was definitely the experience of a lifetime. We saw do many different fish & different types of coral, nurse sharks, sting rays. Absolutely fabulous! I wasn’t going to get off the boat but I did & happy I did. It was mind blowing. I was very nervous, I can swim but have never snorkelled & Jose stayed with me the whole time & I can’t believe how incredible it was. I would definitely do it again.

  We were stunned by the natural beauty everywhere, the water, the port, the people all of it just beautiful. The captain and crew that took care of us was so kind. Our snorkeling guide was amazing, he taught us a lot about the area and was extremely knowledgeable. Snorkeling around the reef was absolutely gorgeous. The bonus was the dogs that live with the crew, they were so cute and funny playing fetch with coconuts and splashing in the water! I would come back a million times if I could. I recommend this experience to anyone with a soul.

  I would always give a 5 star for goffs caye. This was my second time going and it is the most beautiful serene little island with amazing crystal clear water and a beautiful coral reef surrounding it. Went today with our guide Jamal and the captain and crew were great!! Jamal was awesome he guided the snorkeling and was super patient and friendly and went way out of his way to show us how to snorkel safely and efficiently he kept diving down and bringing up conchs and star fish and black and White Sea urchins. He explained the names and habits of many of the fish we saw. Super great tour guide and went above and beyond from other guides I have had in the past. This was my second trip to Goffs Caye. I would suggest definitely bringing drinks and sunscreen and a towel, they make some rum punch and have waters for you and also had sodas and beers and mixed drinks for sale as well as a guy grilling some chicken and spiney lobsters so bring some cash. It was 30$ for a lobster plate that had 3 lobster tails and some rice and beans, Cole slaw, and corn. Great deal!!! I would highly recommend to everyone. If you have trouble walking or climbing up and down into a boat it may not be the trip for you though. Also they stopped and we watched dolphins and sea turtles on the short boat ride to and from the island

  The process to get to the excursion was super easy. Nelson and his wife were phenomenal snorkeling guides. We saw a lot of fish and had so much fun. After we hung out on the beach which is immaculately beautiful and crystal clear water. The lobster, ribs, and chicken we had were better then any food we had on our ship. They made sure we were on time and it was a wonderful experience. This is great for all ages!!

• Two Rude Employees

  We booked this tour via Costco Travel. (Belize Beach and City Tour) I almost hate to write this because there were several kind and competent employees who clearly took pride in their work—but unfortunately, the rude and dismissive treatment I experienced from one employee and a supervisor is something I cannot ignore. We encountered an employee and a supervisor that were blatantly rude and unprofessional. They showed no interest in assisting customers and were completely unwilling to answer even basic questions. Once we arrived in Belize, the first person that we encountered from this company was very rude. He was the person that is assigned to ensuring that you get on the van to get to the dock. He did not want us to ask any questions, unfortunately I did not get his name. Once we got to the dock the second person was Marjorie who I was told is a supervisor. She was extremely rude to another customer. She also did not want to answer any questions. When a customer simply waited to be informed of the next steps, the employee coldly stated, “That’s not my job,” instead of offering any assistance or direction. SplashWave really needs to train their employees and supervisors. Unfortunately I would not spend my money with this company. There are several other companies to choose from. The attitude from both staff members was dismissive and disrespectful. It appears that customer service is not a priority here, and that is completely unacceptable. I do not recommend this company to anyone expecting courteous service. On the other hand Goff Cave is stunning. I would certainly visit but I would use another tour company.

• Excursion Canceled Last Minute, Left w/ Nothing to do in Port

  We booked this excursion well in advance, were emailed a receipt of paymnet and received a confirmation email the day prior to the excursion confirming. On the day of the excursion we hustled off the ship via tender and followed the instructions to meet up with the tour company. We waited for 30-40 mins there at the meeting spot and were told a white van would be coming to pick us up. Then we were told we were going to walk down to a cafe to wait, but instead were taken to the start of a pier to check in with a woman (with no tour company shirt or signage). The tour guy left us at that point. As we were checking in, we were told that our excursion was canceled due to low enrollment and that we could join another tour if we wanted to. We waited for another 30 mins and were then moved to the middle of the pier to wait an additional 30+ mins. At this point, we decided that with the travel time to/from the excursion and the time frame to get back onto the ship, that it was not worth our time to join the other tour. We decided to get back to the port, board the tender and board our ship. I then emailed Viator for a refund, which we are receiving. This was incredibly disappointing and I will never book through Viator again. For ports like this, book through your cruise line directly.

  Confirm with vendor, not 3rd party! Our initial had been canceled, unbeknownst to us. The actual vendor did offer an alternate, at no additional cost.

  We had the best day of our cruise at Goffs Caye! It was beautiful and our tour guides were incredible!! I highly recommend this excursion!!

  Goff’s Caye was incredibly beautiful. One of our top places we’ve ever visited. Getting through Belize city port terminal was a bit of a cluster and the tour company Viator scheduled us through was very unorganized but once we got to Goff’s Caye it was worth it. I highly recommend eating lunch on the beach from the local’s who are grilling there.
