  Ottar is the best. We had fun on our trip. He was probably our most inviting and accommodating host on an excursion to date. We learned about Icelandic history, music and culture in the trip.   Our tour guide and driver, Alain, made this tour a memorable day out. As well as driving safely, he guided us at the stops, took photos for us, ate lunch with us at the farm, and talked virtually the whole time we were on the bus, giving us so much information about the country and the language. We learnt so much from him. The itinerary is a very interesting one, but it really is the guide that elevates the day to one not to forget, so a big thank you to Alain!

  An informative friendly and very amusing day out with Ritchie and driver Mike. Bite sized chunks added up to an experience that made us believe we really knew something of what Iceland is all about, geographically, culturally, historically. Thanks fellas.

  Everything went well overall, but one thing bothered me slightly: our guide had to count the group once or twice. But we stopped several times and there was no effective security or control at this level. I found it unprofessional. In all the countries I’ve visited, guides systematically check the number of participants before leaving. This has put us in a situation where we ourselves have to remain vigilant, when we are supposed to enjoy the activity to the fullest, within the time limit. This detail may seem minor, but to me it makes all the difference. I was with my husband this time, but if we had been with family, it could have become very complicated.

  Addi was our tour guide for this experience and he was great. He was funny during the tour, and also whilst driving around from spot to spot he gave us some history and insight into Iceland which was nice to listen to. Would recommend the tour if you enjoy viewing the sights and also recommend Addi as your guide while taking you around. More than happy with the whole experience. Mike and Beth.

  Great tour of the Golden Circle with super informative guide. Fabulous itinerary and we were so glad to include the horse demonstration and lunch at the beautiful greenhouse restaurant. The bus was slightly cold but outside temperature was -12

  Great tour, stsrting at the Laxnes Horse Farm, where we had coffee and got to pet all the horses in the stables. The horseback tour had nice sunrise-colored snowy peaks in the distance. We crossed a river each way. Toes were cold by the end, so we were looking forward to warming up inside with coffee and sweets. The staff were very energetic, making jokes all the time. We then headed out on the golden circle tour. Petra, our tour guide was bubbly and kept us entertained with interesting Icelandic stories, while we were driving around the beautiful scenery, with mountains and lakes. Walking inside the rift at Thingellir to the place of the world's first parliament felt like going back in time. It was fun to try to match the rock formations from one side to those on the other and see the views on the sunny day. Geyser felt outerworldly, surrounded by steam, seeing bubbling water pools and witnessing the eruption going up 10s of meters up in the air. Finally, Gullfoss was a majestic view by sunset, The summer path was closed, but we got plenty pictures, trying to keep our fingers warm. Each landmark has a souvenir shop, toilets and restaurant. As a bonus, on the way back we got a glimpse at the northern lights. Our driver was kind to make an extra stop for us to take pictures. We got dropped off at the city center.   I chose this trip as it included the Icelandic Horses & Tomato Farm. This far exceeded my expectations and was a wonderful experience. The tour guide was very friendky and knowledgeable and was happy to answer any questions. The Icelandic Horses were gorgeous and you were able to get close and stroke them. Also the tomato farm was wonderful & the food in the restaurant was excellent all based around tomatoes. The Golden Circle was stunning. Loved the whole day & thank you Bus Travel Iceland.
