The Golden Circle is Iceland´s most popular day trip, for good reason. You see the one and only original Geysir. Having Gullfoss waterfall in front of you is worth a day trip on its own. Þingvellir is a National Park, nature reserve, UNESCO World Heritage site, and split by the Mid-Atlantic Rift. But by using our Super jeeps, we can also add the huge Langjökull glacier to your list of impressions. We start the day in Þingvellir, where the Parliament of Iceland was founded in 930 AD. There, you get a view from “the edge of America” over the Mid-Atlantic continental divide. Continuing, we pass the geothermal heated Laugarvatn lake before arriving at the Great Geysir hot spring area, peppered with small and large boiling water springs. The most spectacular one, Strokkur, blasts boiling water up to 30m skywards, up to 3 times in a minute. After quality time at Geysir, a short drive takes us to Gullfoss waterfall, Iceland’s most visited, where glacier melt water thunders in two stages into a 70m deep basalt canyon. We then maneuver a gravel track snaking up mountains towards Europe’s second largest glacier, Langjökull. There, a snowmobile ride is optional if pre-booked, of course dependent on weather, conditions, and time of year. In the afternoon, we descend again and traverse the South Iceland agricultural heartland on our way home to Reykjavik

5.00Christian was an excellent guide. The itinerary was full of amazing stops along the Golden Circle. The trip to the glacier was amazing and a most memorable moment. Christian is very knowledgeable about history and culture in Iceland- as he is Icelandic. Additionally, he is a funny and very entertaining person with whom to spend your day. We would highly recommend this itinerary as well as any trips with Christian. We will definitely use his service again in the future. His vehicle was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. So many people stopped to photograph this car.

5.00We took a 2 day tour with Beggi and the modified Sprinter minivan. Everything was amazing. On day 1 we were picked up outside our accommodation and were genuinely not expecting such a huge, comfy, custom ride. The kids (3 of them, aged 10, 12, and 14) were picking their jaws off the floor at the van! Beggi introduced himself to us and off we set. We had Day 1 touring the golden circle and Day 2 touring the south coast. Day 1 (golden circle) was the national park, the geysir and Gullfoss waterfall. We knew that was planned but the surprise was a drive up a glacier and some time up alone in the wilderness. The kids had the best time sliding down the glacier on their bellies and the ground was so white it lost all shape and contour. I’ve never seen anything so white. Incredible. The journey in the van and Beggi’s easy company made it all fantastic. After an overnight stay we hit the south coast on day 2. More glaciers, waterfalls and black beaches. Again just the best day. You see what these modified cars can do that others can’t. You really get to go places other vehicles can’t. Beggi - if you read this send me your details! I had no cash to tip you and I feel terrible. Everyone else - these guys are the best. Great cars, great guides, great people. Book with them.

5.00We just finished up a 7 day trip to Iceland and Mountain Taxi provided all of our transportation from airport pickup to drop off. Kristjan was terrific. He was informative and accommodating. He shared Icelandic history, interesting facts, pointed out interesting sites and made frequent stops for us to get out and explore Iceland up close. I would recommend anyone spending time in Iceland and requiring reliable transportation to consider Moutain Taxi.

5.00Last June we stopped in Reykjavik on our way home from the UK and were there for 48 hours. Mountain Taxi was such a great way to spend the full day we were there! Our daughters were 12 and 9 and our guide, Bekki (sp?) was wonderful with them. He was knowledgeable and funny, and spoke English perfectly. We saw all the golden circle sites in addition to going on top of a glacier! We could fill our water bottles with glacier water and our daughters were just talking about that the other day. I can’t recommend this tour more, and I’m sorry I’ve been so delayed with it!

5.00This was absolutely amazing. Our Tour Guide could not have been better. You get to see so much of the country. He was so informative. We got to do everything we want to do and more. Our tour guide Gisli was wonderful and warm. Strongly, recommend!

5.00Our guide Beggi was educational and so much fun! We had a wonderful day trip and saw all the Golden Circle must see sights. On top of that we got to do some off roading and even got to drive on the glacier with the super jeep! This trip was worth every penny

4.00Seeing the beauty, and barrenness of iceland. Enjoyed the standout landscape . Iceland had it all. Unfortunately the glacier experience let us down. This was to be the experience which was highlighted but because of certain weather conditions the mountaing taxi could only just get onto the glacier before it was bogged. What a disappointment. I had in my mond eye a ndifferent outcome of driving along the ice and experiencing the piercing white snow but all we saw was slugg.
