Here's what travelers can see and do during the Golden Temple Night Palki: Nightly Palki Sahib: What it is: The Night Palki is a religious procession where the Guru Granth Sahib is placed on a beautifully decorated palanquin and carried in a procession from the main sanctum to the Akal Takht Sahib, which is another significant building within the Golden Temple complex. Timing: The Night Palki typically takes place in the evening, after the evening prayer ceremony known as the "Rehras Sahib." Witnessing the Palki: Observation: Travelers can witness the ceremonial procession as it moves through the beautifully lit Golden Temple complex. The Palki is accompanied by hymn singing and the beats of traditional Sikh musical instruments.

Our guide Sultan Singh is an amazing person who patiently narrated history and the importance of the faith and temple. We had an incredible experience visiting the temple. 5.00My guide was lovely to spend time with. Sultan Singh is smart, relaxed and very easy to understand. I enjoyed the temple and thought the tour was expensive for India but was worth the money.

5.00Visiting the Golden Temple at night was one of the most powerful and memorable moments of my trip to Amritsar. The entire complex looked magical under the lights, with the golden reflection shimmering on the holy water—absolutely breathtaking. I attended the Palki Sahib ceremony, where the Guru Granth Sahib (the Sikh holy scripture) is respectfully carried from the main sanctum to the Akal Takht for the night. The ceremony is accompanied by soulful kirtan (hymns), drumbeats, and a moving sense of devotion from everyone present. It was peaceful, spiritual, and deeply touching. A special thank you to Rishi, my cheerful and polite guide, who explained the ceremony so clearly and helped me truly appreciate the significance behind every step. His presence made the experience even more special. I highly recommend everyone visiting the Golden Temple at night—it’s serene, spiritual, and something you’ll never forget.

5.00This is a wonderful tour to visit the Golden Temple at night, and to see the ceremony, Putting to Bed of the Sacred Book. Our guide, Lazia, was punctual, well-prepared and very informative. She took us to spots where we had close-up views of the ceremonies and procession, and the beautiful lights of the Golden Temple. She gave us the history of the Sikh religion and the Golden Temple, explained beliefs and practices of Sikhism, described the meaning and details of the Night Ceremony, and answered all of our questions. She also gave us an introduction to the Heritage neighborhood leading to the temple, including several of the oldest buildings in the area. We highly recommend this tour.

5.00This tour was incredible . Sultan is an excellent guide and explained everything patiently. It was a deeply spiritual and moving experience . He was also extremely knowledgeable and answered all our questions patiently . Highly recommend this tour as we got to visit the inside of the temple without any crowds or rush . He also took us to eat chaat after the tour though it was not part of the tour . His passion for history and the city shows through.
