5.00This was a fantastic tour with Lee-Ann. You will experience great food tasting at 15 separate places. Lee-Ann gives advice on how to eat certain dishes, so that your seasoning is perfect. Not only does she know masses of the history of Penang, she is excellent at communicating how and why certain food stuffs, cooking methods and dishes found their way here. She is obviously very well liked by all the locals and you are welcomed at each stop. You will get to experience niche stops, like The Three Sisters, it is just wonderful. The food, well that is fantastic, so pleased we booked this, would do this again and will book the evening one next time we are here. Thanks very much Lee-Ann x

5.00Cynthia guided us through an enormous amount of dishes we would have not chosen by ourselves. She also imparted cultural information along with the ingredients and preparation of each dish. The group consisted of 7 participants which was very manageable in small spaces We will recommend chefs tour and will look for them in other destinations

The food selection was outstanding—authentic, diverse, and incredibly delicious—and each stop came with great stories about Penang’s food culture and the local vendors. Lee-Ann was warm, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what she does, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We left full, happy, and with a much deeper appreciation for Penang’s vibrant food scene. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Penang!

5.00We really enjoyed our time on the tour with Lee-Ann in early January. The format was a fun way to see a good part of the old town with a lot of opportunities to try many different foods and some drinks. We learned about the history of Georgetown, the vendors that we visited and also how ordering from the local cafes and food vendors worked. It was obvious that Lee-Ann took great care to try to ensure that everyone got the most from the tour. It was interesting to see how many varied stops we had over the relatively small area of ground that we covered over our 4 hours together (the walks in between the stops were relatively short). I particularly enjoyed hearing the history of the food vendors, some have been in business for decades. Having taken the tour we felt more confident exploring the food options in Georgetown. We also managed to revisit a couple of stops from the tour when we found ourselves back in the area. Overall, this is a super enjoyable tour that I'd highly recommend to anyone interested to know more about Penang's food culture.
