Dorine or Aichatou are 2 beneficiaries of a training that allows them to develop cultural tours to promote Grand Bassam.
They have designed a City Tour which will make you discover Grand-Bassam and its inhabitants with a fresh look, in particular through a mini tour and an encounter with craftsmen who make the particularity of Grand-Bassam.
In this small town not far from Abidjan, you will quickly be seduced by the astonishing diversity of the heritage, the refinement of its inhabitants, as much on the general behavior of their environment and their habitat as on the quality of their welcome. You will hear everywhere: “Akwaba, welcome”.
Our guides therefore hope, thanks to this tour, to open the doors of this charming and unique city to you through a city tour followed by a Pottery workshop.

We invite you to a batik, pottery, chocolate or jewellery workshop for a unique meeting with the craftsmen/women of Grand-Bassam. A coastal city east of Abidjan, Grand-Bassam is not only the closest place to Abidjan for a historical tour, tourist but also it’s cultural centers where you will get to do a bit of souvenirs shopping made in craftsmen and craftwork of Bassam These craft initiation workshops will allow you to discover a know-how, meet a passionate craftsman/women and leave with your creation! Find or develop your creativity in fun and exceptional workshops. Things to know:Please note the pottery craft you will be making will be available only 1 to 2 weeks later as it has to dry.

5.00Dorine provided my aunt and I with such a wealth of information during our visit to Grand Bassam! The bronze workshop was so amazing and the buildings throughout including seeing the school children engaging with each other. Her personality is so warm and friendly and she is a delight with a very promising future in tourism. Please support this company!

4.00This was a pleasant outing to see the local culture in a coastal community. Very pretty scenery in Grand Bassam, and some interesting art. Guide Dorine was excellent, five stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 She is an aspiring leader with the cultural agency who promotes these tours. She was caring and flexible to my needs and preferences, even adding a stop at a local chocolate seller. Note this tour is only offered in French, but we managed using Google Translate. She and our driver arrived promptly to pick me up, as arranged separately. Both were very gracious and thoughtful. Note that because traffic is impossible, our trip was much longer than expected. As for the “jewelry workshop” it was basically stringing some beads with a lovely woman artist, but to be honest this was not much.

5.00My most memorable moments has got to be my interactions with my tour guide, Dorine. She was knowledgeable and knew the destination like the back of her hand. Overall, I had a stellar experience.

5.00the tour guide drove from Abidjan to Bassam. it was friday before 3p and the people started to get ready (really ready) for the festival that starts at 6p. the monuments need a bit of TLC, but the history is overwhelming.
Safe and cultured way to visit Grand Bassam with excellent guides!

5.00Christiane and Aline were wonderful tour guides who answered all my questions and gave me a real insight into Ivoirian life. I went on the Grand Bassam tour including a batik workshop which was interesting and accessible. We visited many different artisans and were given the chance to speak with them, take photos and buy souvenirs when we wanted. The tour felt personalised and safe. It is important to note that the tour takes place in French.

5.00I had a great day in the city. The tour guide Dorine was super nice. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. I only speak English. This tour was in French, but I still took it. Dorine was so accommodating. She tried her best to explain me everything by using translating app on her phone. I didn’t feel that I missed anything. I still understood everything in English. 2.00Visit of the positive chocolate factory Everything else is negative: Very little information on the history of Abassam and colonialism. Extremely disappointing. The visit was limited to a tour of the craftsmen. We haven’t seen any of Abassam’s historic buildings. Excessive price in view of this service.

4.00This was a lovely and informative tour. Our tour guide (Aichatou) was friendly and knowledgeable and tried to conduct the tour in English to accommodate me. It was hot - take a hat and water.

5.00We participated in a tour of Grand Bassam with airport pick up and drop off. It was spectacular! Our guide, Aichatou, was very gracious and knowledgeable. We highly recommend this experience for anyone traveling to Cote D’Ivoire. Also, just to comment on the security situation, we felt very comfortable and feel that this is a great activity for all ages! Highly recommended!!
