You´ll discover the unique flavors of the local cooking while learning about traditional ways of life. As part of this class, you will visit a local market, choose exotic ingredients, and learn to cook 5 typical dishes. (3 main dishes and 2 complements) We will bring you to the local market where you can sample a lot of the exotic fruits. Maybe you had no clue what half the fruits were. Without a local guide, you would’ve missed out on so many food opportunities!

If ever you want to eat delicious food but also want to learn how to prepare it, we offers very fun cooking workshops options. We will bring you to the local market where you can sample a lot of the exotic fruits. maybe you had no clue what half the fruits were. Without a local guide, you would’ve missed out on so many food opportunities! (On Sunday afternoon the experience may be different, because many of the local vendors they close on Sunday afternoon for rest. You will see many things but not like in a regular day) After gathering the produce, you are then brought to their rooftop cooking studio where you prepare your own lunch or dinner. From there, you have a fantastic view of mountains as well as the Volcano. By sharing their food, you will feel like you are part of their culture!

We thoroughly enjoyed our morning, first at the market learning all about local fruits and vegetables. Then we had an amazing cooking lesson on a beautiful roof patio. Fresh food and a knowledgeable, generous teacher. Highly recommend.

OMG!!! This was such a fantastic experience!! Milton and his family provide such a beautiful experience!! You start with an educational tour of the market and then a Tuktuk ride to his home. There you are warmly welcomed and taught how to make Guatemalan dishes. It’s very hands on, fun, educational, and filling!! 100% recommend!!!

This is the best cooking experience to reserve, no need to keep trying to decide which one. The market tour was fantastic, but being able to cook on the rooftop of the chef's house in the nearby town was next level. We made all the typical Guatemalan dishes and everything was excellent. And all with volcano views from the rooftop while cooking. 10/10 experience

This is top notch, the best food and Antigua experience you can do! If you do anything in Antigua let it be this! The instructor Milton gives a lot of contexts for why he chooses the food he cook with at the market and explains his relationship with those at the market. You truly will understand the complex and beautiful process of farm to table here! Milton is very welcoming and was open to all questions about Guatemala to get the best experience and understanding. This is one of the best classes I’ve ever done.

Milton is absolutely wonderful! We really appreciated the time he spent walking us through the market and answering all our (many) questions. The cooking portion was fun and informative. We made a variety of delicious and very filling foods. Overall we had an amazing time and would definitely recommend the class!

I had a wonderful experience with Foodietenango in Antigua! The day started with a visit to the local market, where we shopped for fresh ingredients and learned about traditional Guatemalan flavors and staples. It was such a fun and immersive way to begin the experience. After the market, we headed just outside the city to a beautiful home where the cooking class took place. The views from the house were absolutely amazing—peaceful, scenic, and the perfect backdrop of Fuego for the afternoon. We cooked pepián, tostadas, salsa, handmade tortillas, and a delicious dessert. Everything was hands-on, well explained, and incredibly rewarding to make (and eat!). Riding a tuk-tuk to and from Antigua added an extra layer of fun and local charm. This experience was equal parts cultural, educational, and delicious. If you’re visiting Antigua and want a genuine, memorable food experience, Foodietenango is a must.
