A beginner friendly, guided kayak tour to St Paul's Island. Exploring a wonderful cave before an exploratory rest break on the secluded island.
We start our adventure in Mistra Bay with a basic kayak lesson. We travel as a group at a leisurely pace & stop frequently to explore and for rest! We paddle a total of 4-5kms and our leaders will calibrate pace and distance to the group's abilities.
Starting at Mistra Bay, we will hug the rugged coast up to Rdum Il-Biez Bay. There are lovely blue waters, an amazing cave with colorful coral & several remnants of WW2!
We then cross a 100 meter channel to St Paul's Island. We will stop for 25 minutes and either have a relaxing swim, or else explore the island by land. There is a magnificent statue of St Paul & a big Cross dating back to 1845. Both of these offer amazing photo opportunities.

To Bring: 2 litres of water per participant - Sun Protection - Shoes you don't mind getting wet.
Please note that water is not available for purchase at the bay. Kindly ensure you bring your own water in advance.
You will need to sign the terms and conditions on-site and provide your ID number or passport number to participate
Participants are required to be able to communicate in English language.
Participants must be capable of swimming in order to participate. We cannot accept participants that are unable to swim, even though we provide a floatation vest & although swimming is optional.
As a general guideline, we recommend that participants have the physical ability to sustain a 2hr long, fast paced walk, with occasional rest stops. This is used as an assessment of the required fitness level.
Youth of the age 12 - 17 need to be accompanied by two adults
We retain the right to decline services or modify the tour route and duration in the interest of safety, in cases where medical or related issues have not been disclosed to us prior to or at the time of booking, or have been reported to us inaccurately.
For bookings with an odd number of participants, we will provide double-seater kayaks and one single-seater kayak.
You might be required to share a double-seater kayak with another participant, for medical, or other reasons.

Mistra Bay Beach
Starting from Mistra, a bay of natural importance surrounded by protective hills with an 18th Century Military Battery providing guard!
Kayak through the secluded 'Tal-Mignuna' Bay, also know as 'Rdum il-Biez' & hop inside the vertically tall cave within. This is home to many friendly pigeons! Get up close & personal with the cave's Purple Coral which covers the rocks at waterline level, & the bright Orange Soft Coral thriving a few centimeters deeper. These species can only grow in unpolluted clear waters!

5.00Starting off from a nice little bay. Well organised. Nice to do some exercise. We should have done the kayaking in swimwear/shoes as there was water on the seats/bottom - we were going back in the car.

4.00Great experience, Alan and Sean were very friendly instructors and knowledgeable about the history of the area. We saw some lovely caves and historic structures along the coastline. I booked last minute but Alan was very accommodating and managed to fit me in with one of the groups. I wish we could have stopped on St Paul's Island however unfortunately we ran out of time. But otherwise it was great!
Best time of our vacation!

5.00Sam and John are ultra qualified and very friendly! The excursion is pleasant, perfect for adventure lovers. The short break on the island of Saint-Paul allows us to FINALLY set foot on the island that we saw from our hotel. Sam and John knew how to react in the right way when a member of the group broke her wrist slipping on the rocks during our break on the island of Saint-Paul. The injured lady was first treated by John who had all the necessary equipment with him and then boarded our 2-seater kayak with my girlfriend in the back. Sam attached his single-seater kayak to the duo kayak to tow it to the beach, after having notified a means of transport to wait for us on the beach to repatriate the lady to a hospital afterwards. I then asked John if I could accompany Sam and the two girls with my mono kayak rather than staying with the rest of the group because my girlfriend doesn't speak English very well, which he agreed. Too bad for the lady and her broken wrist, but even with this accident a great day, the best of our vacation! A duo of ultra-competent instructors who know how to stay calm in this type of situation and who know the excursion like the back of their hand, friendly, professional and attentive. To be honest, if we didn't leave tomorrow, we would have booked a second time, we highly recommend it!
