We meet at our kayak shed on the North Esk river (Launceston Seaport) for a briefing and fitting of safety gear We get the group into our foot powered kayaks and once ready make our way downstream to the junction with the River Tamar (Kanamaluka) your guide will lead the group down the Tamar on the right past the old docks and then cross the river and come back upstream past the yacht basin The next leg is the scenic stretch under the old kings bridge and into the lower reaches of the Cataract Gorge on the South Esk river. The cliffs on each side make for a stunning back drop and excellent place to take some photos of the experience. We return to the North Esk river and have a look at some historic buildings before retuning to the kayak pontoon The order of the tour may sometimes be changed to make the best of the tides and match the abilities and interests of the group as a whole

5.00Fantastic little tour. You can bring coffee, water, as its hands free its so easy to glide along and take photos etc. Aran the guide is very knowledgeable and gives great instructions. The kayaks are super easy to navigate and paddle - very easy. We didn't get the slightest bit wet, as you step into the kayak off a pontoon. Tips - free parking in the park, then take the footbridge across to the pontoon. Wear a hat and sunscreen, its really exposed. Otherwise, just sit back and relax and enjoy.

5.00Aaron guided us on a leisurely peddle around the river and then into the gorge, pointing out a sea eagle, night heron and cormorant along the way. It was very pleasant. Just be aware that the section in the gorge is rather short due to the cascades. You will see more walking the gorge path.

5.00We chose early morning as it is usually less windy. It was a perfect morning and so beautiful. I had trouble getting out of kyayk as I am not so fit and 60+ so I just sort of rolled out onto pier it was hilarious. In spite of having trouble getting out I would do it again in a heartbeat. Tour guide was very helpful.

5.00We had a beautiful morning on the river. Blessed with great weather. Only two couples on the tour so guide was very flexible. Kayaks were very easy to operate. Cataract Gorge was a wonderful experience

5.00Aran made it a beautiful experience For some one first time at kayaking and who doesn’t know swimming it was great to have a tick in the bucket list. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and nature Will do it again and highly recommend Safe and enjoyable

5.00The kayak was easy to operate. Legs did get tired at the end but very calming and fun activity. I would recommend it.
