Your culinary journey begins in Skanstull, the southern gateway to Södermalm. Once an industrial area, it has evolved into a lively district where tradition meets modern city life. We stroll along Götgatan, a bustling street lined with boutiques, cafés, and local businesses. Our first stop is a family-run seafood shop with over 60 years of history, where we sample delicacies and learn about Sweden’s rich fishing traditions. As we move through trendy SoFo, we visit hand-picked restaurants and specialty shops offering everything from artisanal cheeses and cured meats to both traditional and modern Swedish dishes. Along the way, we explore the area’s history, culture, and culinary heritage. Our journey concludes at a renowned chocolate atelier, where handcrafted pralines, pastries, and cakes have been made for almost 30 years. We finish with a Swedish fika, enjoying handmade confections and rich hot chocolate—a sweet ending to our flavorful walk through Södermalm.

5.00There were so many good options for food. There was a good amount of walking as well, and it felt like everything was well paced. I would definitely do this tour again. Kristen is awesome. She is such a knowledgeable tour guide.

5.00We have been on many food tours in other countries but this one topped them all. This was more than a just food tour but a dive into Swedish culture and how people get together. Our guide Kristen was simply amazing and knowledgeable. Maybe being an expat US citizen she was able to relate in ways that others might not. The quality and quantity of the food was superb and there was no reason to have much dinner that night. From herring to meatballs to chocolate to ramen it was a food extravaganza. It was also great that our stops were ready for us and had our own table(s) all set up. We cannot say enough about the tour and would highly recommend it

5.00What an INCREDIBLE experience! We can't say enough about Kristin and Frederic. We explored a wide variety of food, drink and grocery all while walking and learning so much history about the city. Very informative and very tasty. We would highly suggest everyone sign up for this tour when visiting! The portions at every stop were extremely generous, so worth every penny spent. Thank you.

5.00My husband and I had a fantastic time on this walking food tour. Kristen was friendly, knowledgeable, and kept the group engaged throughout. With only 8 people, the experience felt intimate and personal. Be prepared—there’s a lot of food! Everything was delicious, but smaller portion sizes would help, as we felt bad not finishing some dishes by the end. The walking between stops was a great way to balance it out. Our favorite stop was the first, where we sampled local cheeses, drinks, and meats like reindeer, bear, and moose while learning about Swedish culture. Ending at the chocolatier would’ve made for a perfect sweet finish! We’d highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves food, culture, and exploring beyond the typical tourist spots. Thanks for a great experience, Kristen!
