The ancient Roman city of Herculaneum is a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the slopes of Vesuvius. Smaller but no less important, buried by the eruption of Vesuvius 79 d.c. Numerous objects found during the excavations allow us to reconstruct what was the relationship of the inhabitants with the gods venerated in antiquity. Naturally a prominent place was reserved for the mythical Hercules, the hero who according to tradition had founded the city of Herculaneum. You could immerse yourself in the daily life of the population of Herculaneum through the scattered ruins that have been perfectly preserved. Together with your guide you will have the opportunity to visit many of the most important sites such as the public baths with their frescoes and mosaics, shops and the gym.

5.00This was a well-organised tour, and the day went very smoothly. The winery lunch was of a good quality. The transfers of the groups between the various buses were efficiently managed, and necessary information was clearly conveyed to us all. The guide who showed us the Herculaneum ruins was knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. We enjoyed the day.
The confirmed trip that never happen…. It was cancelled

1.00Travelling on my own I decided that I wanted to visit Herculaneum and my experience on the trains earlier in my visit prompted me to look for a coach type tour. I found this one and thought that it provided a good value with lunch and wine tasting also provided so I booked via tripadvisor and received confirmation that I had a place on the tour. There was even a quick message from the tour provider sent to me via WhatsApp but unfortunately this was very quickly deleted. About 3 hours later I receive another WhatsApp message telling me that my reservation had been cancelled. This was then followed by an email from tripadvisor informing that my tour operator had to cancel my trip. And then a email from the tour provider via tripadvisor with the same information as the WhatsApp message saying my reservation was cancelled. Was it because I am a solo traveller? Was it because I used a tripadvisor code? The same tour was still available to book on tripadvisor for a few hours after my booking was cancelled. Tripadvisor is now keep asking me to review my tour so this is the experience of my tour…. IT DIDN’T HAPPEN. Hope that mine is an isolated incident but that is my experience I’m afraid.
Avoid at all costs there are other people that do this your for less if you’re not bothered about the wine tasting

2.00Very overpriced. We only got 1.5 hours in Herculaneum and spent longer at the lunch where you were not told what you were eating or really given any explanation of the wines you were tasting. All a massive attempt to get you to buy some very overpriced wine. The guide was the one saving grace though he was excellent

5.00Great guide (Angie) who accompanied us on the coach and excellent tour guide (Erica) in Pompeii. We all enjoyed the short but steep hike up Vesuvius.

1.00We had booked small group skip the line, but the group was 50 people on a bus, and it was a lot of waiting time. Very inefficient. Would not recommend this to see Pompeii and Vesuvius,

5.00Great Hugh, our guide for the tour of Pompeii and Vesuvius! In Pompeii Ugo accompanied us explaining every single detail with great passion! When I see people working with this passion I get back hope for mankind!!! And at Vesuvius he took us to the entrance; although he had not followed us to the top he was with us “spiritually” heheh!! It was a beautiful lap, with the right times, very punctual, and really well organized. A blast from the past that made us relive an era that was and that aroused a strong passion for archaeology! Really good!!!!! By the way, Ugo speaks very good English and also German! Highly recommended tour

4.00The excursion was organised very good. Our guide Roberta from Sorrento show us everything from sightseeing for the short time we had . She was very kind and recommended pleases for drinks, lunch, ets. That was lovely trip.
