Join us for a comfortable private car tour for all ages of Nagoya and its nearby surroundings, guided by a fun and experienced local expert. Relax and enjoy the views and engaging conversation as we travel from one location to the next. This itinerary is a template and can be customized to suit your preferences. Tokugawa garden and Osu Kannon old shopping street can be substituted for the Toyota museum (1200 yen pp)or a bamboo forest, where you can walk and actually touch the trees! It's perfect for the warmer (eg melting hot) and cold (frozen into a popsicle) times. This tour is especially recommended for Cruise ship passengers, as you get picked up at the boat terminal and returned there in time. There is no better way to see Nagoya than by car.

Nagoya Castle
Nagoya Castle: Where History Meets Legendary Bling Welcome to Nagoya Castle, one of Japan’s most iconic and legendary strongholds, proudly standing tall in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, right in the heart of Honshu! Cool Castle Facts: Born in 1612 – Built by the legendary Tokugawa Ieyasu, the powerhouse behind the Tokugawa shogunate. Talk about a strong start! Golden Guardians – Spot the dazzling golden shachihoko on the rooftops! These mythical tiger-headed fish are said to protect the castle from fire—and they look awesome doing it. Style Goals – Traditional Japanese vibes with towering stone walls, bright white plaster, and an epic central keep (called a donjon). It's like stepping into a samurai movie set. Sky-high Splendor – The main tower stretches up to 48 meters (157 feet)—basically the height of a 15-story building!
Tokugawa Garden
t’s a beautiful Japanese landscape garden built on the grounds of the Owari Tokugawa family’s former residence. Highlights: Central pond and waterfall: A classic kaiyū-style (strolling) garden with a large pond representing the sea, with artificial hills symbolizing mountains. Seasonal flowers: Peonies in spring, irises in early summer, autumn foliage, and snowy scenery in winter.

Serge was a great guide to travel with. Very responsive to emails and also took lots of pictures for us. We wanted to go to a location that is about 1.5 hours outside of Nagoya and he was able to accommodate us easily. He prepared snacks and water for us for the road trip and took us to some less traveled places in Nagoya. The only down side is that he forgot people need to eat! we were so busy traveling and site seeing that we did not have time to get any lunch. (I couldn't suggest any lunch places since I don't know where we are and he didn't suggest eating lunch at any point).

This was an amazing tour! Our guide was fun, informative, and knowledgeable about her city. The communication was seamless as to where to meet outside of the port.We were taken to all the highlights of the city. By time we were taken back to the port, we felt our guide was a family friend. Don’t miss this tour, so much better than the ship’s excursions!!!!

This is the first time my family had gone on a private tour of Japan even though we have been to Japan many times over the years. Serge has been such a wonderful guide bringing us to Korankei Gorge and Obara Fureai. More than just a guide, he is such a warm and bubbly person, and made us feel so much at ease with him. We felt as if we are meeting an old friend even though we only met for the first time today. From living in Japan for more than 30 years, Serge was able to bring an interesting perspective looking at Japan both as an outsider as well as a local. Our biggest surprise was meeting his wife Tomoko who so happened to be at Korankei Gorge. She is also a tour guide and even showed us around. I guess we got what every Singaporean would dream of - buy 1, get 1 free! Thank you Serge and Tomoko for the lovely and enjoyable tour. Your passion for what you do is palpable!

Serge was very knowledgeable and fun to talk with. It was like hanging out with a friend for the day. He managed to get us to a lot of places in a short amount of time. We had a lot of fun and a lot of laughs. And the kids loved him! Would definitely recommend.

We had a perfect day in Nagoya with Tomoko. Knowledgeable, energetic, and very accommodating… Saw all the sites, learned a lot of history, and a highlight was eel for lunch in a traditional eel restaurant. We could not have asked for a better day! Thank you, Tomoko and your husband, Sarah, who was also a great communicator and support throughout.

Tomoko was an amazing tour guide. She was answering all of our questions and she took us to a great place to get a traditional eel dish. She gave us recommendations and was very personable. We also had great conversation before the trip to go through exactly what I wanted to see so she could cater the tour for us.
