The trek starts conveniently at the Fjellheisen cable car, a short walk from many popular locations. The meeting point is easily accessible by via a short ride with city bus, taxi, uber or shuttle bus to the cable car station, or a 30-40 minute walk from the city center.
This tour is limited to a small group size of four or less for a more personal experience and more attentive guide. It's even possible for a group to choose a specific route depending on scenery preference and difficulty level (easy or moderate).
Keep an eye out for wildlife! There are foxes, hares, ptarmigan and eagles in these forests. Reindeer have also been spotted! Have any questions about the local wildlife, culture or history? Just ask your knowledgeable guide!
The tour also includes a traditional 'lefse' pastry snack and a warm drink for you to enjoy.

5.00We had a great tour with Phil with some amazing views over Tromsø. Phil is a very enthusiastic guide with a lot of knowledge about wildlife and the local history. We thoroughly enjoyed our snow shoe hike and the warm drink & lefse. Would totally recommend! ☺️

5.00The guide is friendly, knows the terrain and wildlife, and speaks English as a first language. Also adaptable, making this a good hike for first timers as well as for more adventurous people. I highly recommend this activity.

5.00EN- It's an excellent option for a different winter activity in Tromsø. While it does involve some physical effort, it's a great way to escape the crowds of Northern Lights buses and other major attractions. The snowy forest, the views of the fjord, and the city are beautiful. The hikes are tailored to your experience level. When we went, it hadn't snowed in a long time and there was a lot of ice, but Phil still found the best route and options to enjoy "virgin snow" and have the full experience. Highly recommended! ES- Es una excelente opción para una actividad distinta e invernal en Tromso. Si bien implica un esfuerzo fisico, es excelente para tomar distancia de los multitudes de los buses de auroras y atracciones masivas. El bosque nevado, las vistas al fiordo y a la ciudad son hermosas. Las caminatas se adaptan a tu experiencia. Cuando fuimos hacía mucho no nevaba y habia mucho hielo, aun asi Phil buscó el camino y las opciones lara disfrutar de “nieve virgen” y tener la experiencia completa. Totalmente recomendable!

5.00Phil was so friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience fun and relaxed. As first-time snowshoers we took an easier route, and the twilight views around Tromsø were incredible. A great, accessible adventure — highly recommended! We even took the cable car afterward, which was a perfect finish.
