We tell the story of the horse racing track which used to exist in the area from 1843 to 1933, how the racecourse was subsequently turned into a sporting field known as Farrer Park and the role it played in India’s fight for independence from British colonial rule! We also stop to look at the Fengshui shops in the area.

5.00We'd enjoyed walking tours led by Ping during a previous visit to Singapore, so when we saw the Farrer Park tour listed on the On-A-Roll-Tours website, we were immediately interested. It was an area we hadn’t explored much before, and the experience exceeded all expectations. Ping is a warm, engaging, and knowledgeable guide, who goes beyond simply reciting facts and dates - she shares her personal interpretations & stories, which makes the tour feel personal & memorable. One lovely touch on Ping’s tours is that she takes numerous candid & scenic photos throughout the walk, which she shared with us afterward. 5.00A wonderful tour of Farrer Park, guided by Ping. Her knowledge was deep and she took us to places not often visited by tourists. We came away with a sense of the richness of Singapore’s story - past and present, and as Australians it filled in some gaps in our knowledge about our near neighbour. Thank you Ping!
