• Disappointing experience

  We honestly didn’t understand the point of having a guide on this tour. Throughout the entire location, the guide (Candice) mostly walked silently with us and didn’t provide any explanations, stories, or context about the place. She essentially only helped us buy the tickets, something you can easily do on your own without a guide. The natural location itself is beautiful, and the waterfall area could have been really nice. However, it’s a shame how the place is ruined by cheap-looking dinosaur statues (they are EVERYWHERE, even on top of the natural waterfall) and overwhelming loud sounds coming from speakers all over the area. It completely breaks the atmosphere and feels unnecessary. Perhaps this concept works for children, but even then, it’s sad that natural scenery had to be damaged for this instead of creating a separate theme park. The glass bridge itself is quite fun and interesting, but in our opinion it’s not worth a three-hour drive just to see it. Overall, the place had potential, but the experience felt poorly thought out. With no real guidance and a lot of artificial distractions, it didn’t feel worth taking a guided tour as well.

  I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Damon from Guangzhou Local Tours for organising such a wonderful full-day private tour for us. From the start of planning until the end of the day, everything was handled with care and professionalism. Damon’s pre-trip communication was great and his advice made our arrival smooth and stress-free. On the day itself, his warm welcome, excellent English, and passion for Guangzhou and Chinese history turned a great itinerary into an unforgettable experience. He patiently took all the photos I wanted at every site, helped sort out a SD card when I forgot mine, and nothing was too much trouble.   We enjoyed the tour.. it was beautiful scenery and fun for kids. Our tour DAMON 🫶🏻just wow , helpful, excellent. His English was very fluent and very easy to contact.. all well planned. Looking forward to have another tour

  Contacted Damon prior to booking the tour. He was responsive and able to accommodate to my special request to start the tour from Qingyuan and end the tour in GZ. He arrived earlier than the tour start time. Mini van that he arranged was big enough for our group of 7 with luggages. With Damon guiding us, we were able to cover Gulong Gorge in half a day and snap some good pics at recommended photo spots! Do not miss out the Cliff Coaster (Toboggan)-the fast way to bring u halfway down the hill! For the remaining half day, he brought us back to GZ for a dim sum lunch and covered a few other spots within the city!

  

  

• Absolutely Outstanding Private Tour – Highly Recommend!

  We did this private customised tour yesterday as two adult girlfriends travelling with my 11-year-old daughter, and it was hands-down one of the best tours we’ve ever experienced. From start to finish, everything was seamless, enjoyable, and incredibly well-organised. A special shoutout to our guide, Damon, who made the entire day exceptional. He WhatsApped me almost immediately after I booked to confirm all the details, followed up again a few days before the tour, and was perfectly punctual on the day itself. Throughout the trip he was engaging, friendly, passionate about his work, and genuinely knowledgeable. He shared fascinating insights about Guangzhou, its history, and the Gulong Gorge area, which really added so much depth to the experience. Damon’s English was excellent (as were his Chinese and Cantonese), and he was wonderfully flexible and accommodating — especially during our half-day city tour in the afternoon. It was truly “free and easy” in the best way possible: he went along with everything we wanted to do, adjusted the plan effortlessly, and offered fantastic recommendations for food, snacks, and shopping. He also went above and beyond in terms of hospitality: taking lots of photos for us, helping carry our bags along the way, and making sure we were comfortable at all times. We had a fantastic time at the gorge and on the glass bridge, also did a bunch of heart-thumping activities like the sky bike, the mountain coaster and QQ flying car (effectively a super long luge ride - highly recommended!) down the mountain - all of which were navigated and arranged by Damon on the spot. Following the exhilarating morning at the gorge, Damon took us back to the city where we had the most sumptuous dim sum lunch at one of the best old school dim sum restaurants in the old town followed by a relaxed and personalised city tour that suited our pace perfectly. Damon was extremely flexible and let us dictate exactly where we wanted to go and what we wanted to see on the city tour, with him giving suggestions as well and basically, just going with the flow which suited us perfectly as my travelling companion had certain specific things she wanted to see and old school traditional shops she wanted to visit to shop for traditional items and snacks. We would never have been able to find or locate these traditional stores and alleys on our own! If you’re considering this tour with Damon, book it! He made our day truly unforgettable.   A very pleasant trip with Damon. He is very knowledgeable and speaks very good English. Sharing of local information and caring for our well being. Provide useful information on local food, shopping and guides to navigate around the city. Highly recommended.
