This was a 10 out of 10 experience! From the initial booking to the drop off at our hotel after 4 days on motorbikes the Green Hills Hostel and tours did everything they could to make our experience memorable. They were super easy to communicate with through WhatsApp. They arranged our transport from Hanoi to their hostel. We arranged to have a private tour because we weren’t really interested in being in a group of 10 or more motorbikes. We had 2 easy rider guides as well as another couple that drove their own bike. The small group was really fun and provided opportunities for flexibility because we were a group of three bikes. Our guides Tinh and Thai were amazing! Tinh was a great leader. There were lots of bikes on the loop due to some festivals and he knew where to stop to avoid big crowds. Evernote though there were lots of bike touring we often felt like we were the only ones on the loop. Tinh answered all our questions and shared what he knew about the countryside. Green Hills also arranged to have a birthday cake for my husband while we toured! Really thoughtful and it made his birthday much more special! The sights are amazing and it was fun to ride through all the small towns and villages. We requested private rooms and always had comfortable rooms with our own bathroom at each home stay. I highly recommend this tour. For us, the small group option was perfect but I’m sure the larger groups are a blast too!

This was a bucket list trip for me. Viator made it very easy to book and it was much more dependable than booking with tour groups in Hanoi. The tour operator for this adventure was Greenhill Homestay and they were wonderful and very helpful. Contacting them through Viator can also make it easy to get a bus from Hanoi to Ha Giang with a dropoff at the Homestay. That was a mistake for me as I booked on the internet and the bus dropped me off 20 miles from the Homestay. My guide was friendly and helpful. His English was good enough to communicate...and that is not always the case in Vietnam. The people I met on the road were crammed into large hostel rooms and this tour does not do that. I did meet some great people at each stop but if you want to be alone, that works as well if you have a private room which I paid a bit extra for....and it was worth every bit of what I paid. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough.

This tour was amazing! Don't hesitate to book it. Our easy drivers Tinh and Chung were so great. Tinh spoke good English and Chung spoke a bit but was super funny (also great at karaoke). The max speed they go is around 40km/h which made us feel safe. I don't reccomend driving this road without an easy driver If you haven't driven in an Asian countryside before. Leave the roads to the locals. The views on the tour were spectacular and they stopped at all the best spots. We were lucky enough to have 2 and a half days of sun (out of the 4, 10th to 14th of Feb) this time is the tet fest so there were many Vietnamese tourists around but we didn't mind :) I highly encourage you to pack gloves and a ski mask/face mask as it gets windy on the roads. They give you plastic coverings if it rains but I loved having my rains jacket on the whole trip as a wind breaker. The first nights accommodation had the most spectacular view, the second ones bed/pillow weren't great but the third was super comfy (all private bedroom with ensuite). Also a shout out to Greenhill homestay family for having us at their home for tet new years eve and tet new year family dinner. It was an unforgettable experience. Don't skip this on your Vietnam holiday. It was also just me and my partner on the tour and we loved how private it was (instead of a big group of 10 riders).

We had a wonderful tour! It was a small group, accommodation was good, food was great, but most importantly the drivers were amazing! They drive safely, and are also great hosts at all the stops and overnight stays, making sure we got anything we wanted. When we had some health issues they even arranged some special food. Communication with both the hostel and the drivers’ leader was great and easy in English. Would definitely recommend

These four days were absolutely fantastic. Riding on the back of the motorcycle through the beautiful countryside was definitely a big highlight of my trip to Vietnam. I would also like to thank the whole team for their great work. The easy drivers were very friendly and endeavored to offer the customers the best possible experience. As well as the employees of the Green Hill Hostel who organized my return transfer and were concerned about the well-being of their customers. It was an unforgettable four days!!
