Escher in The Palace

It is housed in the Lange Voorhout Palace since November 2002. Here you will have to look around to find the answer to our challenge to advance to the new location and learn the story of this place.

The Abbey Church is a Protestant church in Loosduinen in The Hague. The church is the oldest building in The Hague, and is even older than the Knights' Hall that was built in the same style. The Abbey Church was built between 1238 and 1250 by the wife of Dutch Count Floris IV in a transition style from Roman to Gothic. Here you will have to look around to find the answer to our challenge to advance to the new location and learn the story of this place.

Not recommended. It was not easy to use and definitely not worth the effort. Probably an audio version would ha e been better

We enjoyed this little story-based self-guided tour. It was an interesting way to experience the history without being stuffy. It does only take you around the central part of the city, but it fit into our timetable nicely.
Good idea but needs improvement.

The idea is good but several improvements are needed. Requiring an app to be downloaded is an extran unnecessary step. It should be web based or the use of another already downloaded app like an extension of viator for example would be more convenient. Also, the app should allow the selection of maps instead of the default. The default map was awful. Also the story should be audible so groups can listen to the story because i’m bright sunlight it’s difficult to read.

Enjoyed seeing highlights of The Hague. Some challenges were hard, some easy. Construction got in the way, but we soldiered on. Good background story of the DeWitt, too.
