Wat Phra That Doi Suthep
One of northern Thailand’s most important and beautiful temples, located near the top of Doi Suthep (Mount Suthep). It is a place of worship, dates back to the year 1373 when the first Chedi was built. It is an important pilgrimage spot for the devout and is sacred site to many Thai people. Visitors can take the 306 steps staircase or ride on a cable car to reach the pagoda.
Wat Pha Lat
While most people head to the top of Doi Suthep to visit the golden chedi of Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, many don’t realize there’s another gem hiding part way up the mountain. While it is not a particularly beautiful temple building, it features magical temple grounds including a waterfall, forest paths and stunning views of the city.

5.00We booked a private tour for The Doi Suthep and Palad Temples in Chiang Mai with AP Good Travel via Trip Advisor. Our private guide, Noom, was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Chiang Mai, Buddhism and the influences of other religions on the region, architecture and culture. Having a private guide was the perfect way to get a customized experience for this tour. Noom taught us how to honor the Buddha and get blessed by a monk at Doi Suthep. That was a very special experience. I highly recommend Noom as a private tour guide!

5.00Found this great tour company through my hotel concierge. I had struggled finding private tour companies that would take a solo traveler out believe it or not. Nui was fantastic and the driver Tom was safe and careful. Because he had also been a Buddhist monk, Nui absolutely knew so much about the religion and even helped me get blessed by a monk which was a highlight of my trip. I highly recommend this tour company to anyone wishing a more tailored, personal experience. English was fantastic and we also visited a jade factory.

5.00Tobi was a really good host. We had a really great time with him. He would answer all the questions we had, and the experience was really good. He explains all the points. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will definitely be asking for him for other tours as well.

5.00Gobi was great and very knowledgeable giving us all the details of the history and meaning of temples and Chiang Mai with so much patience. Definitely worth it to do this tour while in Chiang Mai. The tour is on a very comfortable van with plenty of cold water and AC.

5.00The tours offered by all good travel are great and can be adjusted as desired. We took this half day but also added the Hmong tribe. Gobi helps you meet people because he has a natural empathy. And the minivan is nice with water on demand.

5.00The half day tour was very efficient and informative. Gobi, our guide, was the perfect host. He supplied a plethora of information and insight. He is a true professional! We visited the two temples and never felt rushed. He explained everything succinctly with lots of sidebars and anecdotes. The tour never dragged, and we felt we truly experience a piece of Thailand’s culture.
