Since 1992, we have been offering our Muri Lagoon cruise and sharing our tropical island playground with visitors to Muri Beach, Rarotonga in the Cook Islands. We certainly know how to have a good time and would love to bring you along! Join us on this wonderful lagoon cruise that includes a delicious BBQ lunch! Enjoy snorkeling in the clear water while keeping an eye out for Charlie the huge Moray Eel and colorful tropical fish!

Muri Lagoon
Don’t miss one of Rarotonga’s most popular and enjoyable tours, fun for all ages. Cruise on the glass bottom boat to the marine reserve for some awesome snorkelling with giant clams and tropical fish in the crystal clear waters of the lagoon. A perfect way to explore or view the marine life through the glass bottom of the boat without actually having to get wet! An Awesome day out with a fabulous fresh fish open fire BBQ lunch, coconut tree climbing and coconut husking show, pareu tying demonstration and the sounds of the NSA stringband on Motu Koromiri.

On arrival at Muri Beach you will be welcomed with Cook Island's drumming before boarding the glass bottom ready for departure at 11am

4.00We saw a turtle from boat immediately. Snorkeling around 45 minutes. The crew make this a terrific day. Very entertaining & caring. Help on / off boat. Food all good standard. Highlight of our stay. Recommend

5.00The guys were brilliant musicians and very entertaining. The snorkelling was awesome, the fish, eels and clams were beautiful. The lunch was delicious and the show was great. Our family (of eight, aged 2 to 64) had a fantastic day with the crew who were very friendly, helpful and talented. Money very well spent!

5.00A fantastic 4 hours spent having an awesome time. The moment you arrive until you hop off boat at end of your cruise you will be smiling, laughing or singing! Nice bbq lunch included. The team are very helpful. All equipment you need they have on board for you to use. Price for 2 adults and 2 children was well worth it! Would recommend to anyone to go out with Captain Tama’s and would go again myself.

5.00We went on the Captain Tama's Lagoon Cruise with lunch and snorkelling in May 2026. The guys were amazing and very funny. They entertained us on our destination and on our return with some island music. The snorkelling was good and they provided all required snorkelling gear. After snorkelling we went to an island for lunch, the food was fantastic and we were also entertained with island music from the boat guys, who are soooo talented. After lunch one guy showed us his coconut climbing talents plus 3 ways to were a sarong for women and a couple of ways to wear them on a man. He was absolutely hilarious and had everyone in stiches. So glad we did this cruise and would definitely go again next time we're in Rarotonga. Thank you Captain Tama's for a great experience. Jan

4.00The crew was amazingly talented and very friendly and helpful. Sadly the day we went snorkeling it was quite windy which made it difficult to snorkel. I was disappointed with the lack of color in the reef but was able to see many varied fish

5.00What an experience. The guys in charge were young friendly and extremely competent. From the fitting of our flippers, to the safety talk before boarding, very professional. The journey out to the snorkeling site was taken up with drum and ukele and lots of singing. Clear instructions when at the site and a lot of time to explore, the lunch and entertainment brilliant. A great day. More snorkeling after lunch if inclined or sit on a beautiful beach. Highly recommend.

5.00Our family of 8 enjoyed our day on Captain Tama. We enjoyed our tour, Captains were awesome. Easy check in, saw one turtle on our way out, snorkelling was great we had our 8 year old and she was fine with a lifejacket for safety. Then off to the small island for a beautiful kai and the entertainment had everyone in fits of laughter. I recommend this tour for anyone who wants to snorkel, be entertained by some cook island humour, drums and awesome singing with a bit of knowledge shared. This is absolutely the tour for and great value for money
