Leaving the hotel, we reached Pico Arieiro in 45 minutes. When we arrive and get a comfortable spot where the sunrise begins, there is pure magic happening right in front of us. We are above the clouds, and Mother Nature welcomes us with a display of her splendor. Shades of orange and purple tear through the blue sky and reflect on the clouds below us. Little by little, it is possible to see the sea and the green mountains emerging between our views. After sunrise, we will descend to a campsite to discover the enchanting Levada de Balcoes. Pick-up is 90 minutes before sunrise.

5.00Friendly welcoming driver Antonio, picked us up from hotel to start our excursion to Pico do Arieiro for the sunrise. On way up Antonio shared his local knowledge making the journey to and from our destination more immersive. We were taken right to the top and only had to walk short distance to viewpoint which was beautiful and incredible. Afterwards we were taken to a nearby Levada walk with balcony viewpoint which again was stunning. This trip was well worth the money and I’d do it all over again

5.00Antonio was warm and friendly and kept us laughing! He gave us history lessons of the island’s plants, water system, culture, economics and more. The sunrise was beautiful and on our way down we went to the balconies as well as did a little off roading. I would highly recommend booking your tour with Antonio!

5.00Thanks to Antonio for this special experience. He is a safe driver and gives a lot of interesting information. The sunrise was amazing. There is also a short walk to Balcoes (with a great view and lovely birds). We can fully recommend this trip and this company.

5.00Fantastic experience for sunrise above the clouds. We were picked up well outside of funchal for now extra cost by Antonio and he was so informative throuout the drive. The views from the top of the mountain at sunrise were simply breathtaking. Antonio is the best guide you can have, and at such a great price! Would highly recommend!

5.00Antonio was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable! The chairs, blankets and hot coffee came in very handy and Antonio found us a lovely spot to see the sunrise.

5.00Stunning and 100% recommend this trip with our tour guide. Knowledgeable and walked us to the spot he thought was best. Advised us to wrap up warm before we set off and very kindly lent us his coat too. Prompt to pick us up, good driver and gave us the time we wanted. Thank you so much. It made our holiday 👍
