  Wanted to visit the Salt Mines and was toying with the idea of going DIY or going with an agency. Found Poland Is Beautiful via a Krakow Facebook group and it had good reviews and luckily for us, it was running a promotion with discounted prices. It was a no-brainer for us as for just a few euros more, we had door-to-door pick up and drop off, tickets organised and bought in advance for us and the company of our driver/guide Lukas who was friendly and informative. Had a great chat with him about Krakow in general, and he offered many tips and recommendations for our stay. Honestly, if you're on a tight budget, you can easily do the Salt Mines on your own as you can simply take a direct train there from Krakow Glowny and buy your entry tickets directly from the Wieliczka Salt Mines website. The entry ticket comes with the guided tour run by the Mines staff themselves and not the tour guide from the agency. So essentially by going with a tour agency, you are just paying for transportation there and for them to buy tickets for you. However, we were happy that we used the services of Poland Is Beautiful as we appreciated not having to walk in the cold from our apartment to the train station and from the station to the Salt Mines and we would certainly not have gotten the bonus of chatting with a local (Lukas) during the trip and getting all his personal takes and recommendations. My interaction with Tomasz the agency owner was great. He was very prompt and helpful in answering my numerous queries prior to the tour and kept us apprised and updated the day before with pertinent logistics like pick up time, driver's particulars etc.  I understand that Poland Is Beautiful is a small boutique agency that does many other tours and specialises in trips to Zakopane. Given my great experience with them, I will certainly support local and contact them again when I return to Krakow in the future.

  Absolutely fabulous trip, booked through poland is beautiful and contacted day before informed of time to picked up, shared with another couple which we didn't mind, Dawid picked us up from our accommodation on time, lots of walking but Salt mines brilliant, Dawid gave us certificate from poland is beautiful for having done trip which was very thoughtful. Would book through this company again highly recommended.

  Had a great time with this company. Pick up time and location were confirmed the previous day and on the day of the trip, the driver Jakob, let us know he was on his way and turned up on time. Jakob informed us that we had 3 more pick ups and roughly how long it would take to reach the mines. Once there we were escorted to the mines and informed of a possible alternative exit and how to get back to the meeting place. The mines were amazing and well worth the visit. I am happy to recommend this company, everything was organised very professionally and I will have no hesitation using them when we return to Poland

  Communication was great and a prompt confirmation of driver name and pick up from our accommodation. The driver was polite and kept us up to date on the way. Collected our tickets and walked us to the entrance, and was waiting for us 3 hours after the tour started. Excellent service

  Very interesting way to spend a half day out of the city, both driver and guide where very knowledgeable and professional, would recommend you try this.

  This tour was well organised and on time. There was good communication from them about pick up time etc. The driver was friendly and safe. The mines are well worth a visit and I highly recommend booking with this company.

  Driver Lukas was fab, arrived on time, whilst driving to the salt mines he told us a bit about them. This was an amazing trip, thoroughly recommend it, stunning and very interesting. We ate at the cafe which was lovely, we both had soup (different kinds to try). Lukas also took us the day before to Zakopane which was also stunning views from up in the mountains, cheese and cherry vodka tasting 😋 and we visited the highlanders village.   Great driver. Communication was fantastic. Driver was friendly and professional . The salt mines are amazing and should not be missed.
