Wieliczka Salt Mine
The historic Salt Mine is located about 10 km from Krakow and is on the first UNESCO World Heritage List (1978). The current mine was established ad the turn off 18 and 19 century (though mining history reaches antiquity here). The tourist route goes through the most interesting places in the mine that consists of 22 chambers which are connected by salt pathways of lenght about 3 km. Chambers are located at depth 64 to 135 meters underground.

5.00Our lovely chauffeur, Tomasz, took very good care of us. Got us where we needed to be and had delightful conversation in the car on the way to & from our hotel. The salt mines were incredible to see and they are truly unbelievable. Must see! Highly recommend!

5.00Tomak picked us up at our hotel in Krakow and messaged us the day before about exact pick up time and drove us to the salt mines. About 45 minutes outside of town. He then directed us to the group we’d be joining to go into the mines very efficiently. Our English speaking guide was wonderful. You’re in the mines for about 2:15 hours and learn about the salt mining dating back to the 1600’s. There are amazing full chapels with the story of Christ depicted in amazing salt carvings. Was glad to take the elevator back up!

5.00Had a fantastic trip to the Salt Mines, with Thomas at Poland is beautiful. He arrived on time and was very informative as we travelled to the mines through Krakow. Thomas escorted us to the entrance and we skipped the long queue to our lovely guide. The mines were wonderful and at the end we were in a different place and Thomas came and picked us up after having waited for us. I also had Thomas take me on a trip on the Pope John Paul trail and again he was professional and friendly and as a solo female traveller I felt totally safe and at ease. From my experience on both trips I would highly recommend Thomas and Poland is beautiful. Thank you

5.00Interesting and beautiful salt mines. We booked through Poland is Beautiful and were taken there and back by Thomas - lovely journey and he waited for us at the end, after the specified time, so that we could visit the museum at the end of the Mine tour. Thank you Thomas!

5.00Great day at the Salt mine. Tomasz was very polite and friendly. He was right on time to pick me up for my tour. Excellent driver and waited patiently for us whilst we finished our tour. The Salt mine was also quite interesting in terms of Polish history and worth a visit. Much recommended.

3.00Driver Dawid was prompt and friendly. At the salt mine Shame headset didn't work after 10 minutes missed a lot of the information. Beautiful to see so it's worth visiting
