A short stop at St.Gilgen (also a "The Sound of Music" film location). On the way to Hallstatt we go through the famous Lakes and Mountains district “Salzkammergut” passing by also hotel Schloss Fushl and the headquarters of Red Bull. Our 1st short photo stop is high over Lake Wolfgang and the Mozart village St. Gilgen.

Bad Ischl

Bad Ischl was the summer residence of the Austro-Hungarian Emperor Franz Joseph I and Empress Elisabeth (Sisi). In Kaiservilla the declaration of the war against the Kingdom of Serbia was signed. It was the beginning of WW I. You will get explained about the history while passing the town.

Fritz was our driver and tour guide. He was so knowledgeable and efficient. He truly does have the best parking spot in Hallstatt! The van is very comfortable and the views are spectacular. The salt mine is fun - we had fun riding the miners taxi:-) The slides are exciting and the videos are informative. Great day-totally recommend!

Fritz was a lively, attentive, funny and interesting guide. During the excursion he shared with us a lot of informations. He answered all our questions and made sure we understood everything. Hallstatt is an exquisite village to visit and the salt mines are a must. My friends and I loved the excursion!

This was a great day trip from Salzburg. Our driver/guide Shiba picked us up at our hotel and was very nice and informative. It was a nice comfortable van with 4 other people. Once in Hallstatt, we did the mine tour which was very interesting. We had a couple of hours to spend in the town afterwards. Hallstatt is one of the most picturesque towns I've ever visited and we had beautiful weather that day. Luckily it didn't feel as crowded with tourists as I had been expecting. I only wish we had a little more time to explore this beautiful little village. One more hour here would have been perfect!

This experience was perfect starting with our guide, Sheeba (sp), who was very funny and informative. We were picked up from our hotel, which was very convenient and being in a small group made the experience more relaxing and enjoyable. He went out of his way to detour on little side trips to show us more than what was on the itinerary for the day. The scenery was beautiful on the way to Hallstatt and the salt mines. Hallstatt is a picture-perfect Austrian village with quaint little shops, friendly people and very good food. The experience in the salt mine was like no other - our guide was informative and made sure everyone stayed safe and enjoyed themselves all at the same time. Such an amazing experience!!

We enjoyed seeing all the beautiful scenery while driving to Hallstatt. The Salt Mine tour was an added bonus to complement our time in Hallstatt. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and made this a memorable trip.
