The Discovery Tour is the ultimate way to experience Hamburg. This program combines 3 must-do tours while visiting Hamburg: LINE A city tour day pass with a red double-decker bus, 1-hour Harbour Boat Tour or Evening Light Cruise by the Abicht shipping company, 1-hour Alster Round Trip by the ATG Alster-Touristik shipping company. Getting around all over the city! These three tours will take you to the city’s most renowned tourist attractions so you can get off the bus wherever you want to explore the city in depth. Whether you have little or a lot of time in Hamburg – the discovery ticket gives you the option of planning the programs freely - either all on one day or spread over up to 4 days. Validity: Each tour can be taken once. Prior to taking the harbour boat tour and the Alster Round Trip, you must redeem your voucher or ticket at one of the LINE A buses. The tickets are open tickets. You can take them on any day or time you want.

3.00English option advertised, hard to find. Many of the outlets on the bus did not work. We had to disembark and wait for another to find working audio outlets. Those who understood German had it easy, others not so much. The driver would add I do only in German so we don’t know what we missed. The boat trip was only offered in German. We were supposed to download an English audio guide and bring headphones but the pre-tour information was missing. If it weren’t for Marcel at the dock who allowed us to use his hotspot, we would not have had ANY idea what we were seeing

4.00This tour does not have much flexibilty if you miss one of the two cruises. We were lucky to get on the Alster cruise as it was booked out by a visiting cruise ship - there was only room for the two of us. There was no time to hop off the bus and catch a later bus. The two cruises were enjoyable and informative,

2.00Hamburg is a pretty boring place. We took the Harbour cruise which was only available in German. The Lake Alster cruise was also in German. We sat there feeling so bored. The hop on hop off tour did have other language available, but probably only 30 of what they talked in local language, while half of the time music only. I guess this what they can do best in Hamburg, not much alternatives. Don't think I will ever return to Hamburg.
