Hanoi
Our evening food tour invites guests on a culinary experience around Hanoi. It's a carefully curated food adventure, led by our team of professional food guides. Before we get started, our tour reflects the local cuisine, & the limitations of street food vendors means we unfortunately cannot cater for every dietary restriction. Here's an honest appraisal for the tour, so no-one is disappointed: ✘ Unsuitable for vegetarian diets sorry, as there would be 3-4 less tastings. ✖️ Unsuitable for severe allergies, halal and celiac diets, due to the risk of traces & cross-contamination. If you are feeling adventurous for a foodie journey, read on!
Hanoi
By dusk, Hanoi's streets come alive with the clattering of pans and rise of steam as tasty food bubbles and boils in Vietnam's Northern culinary powerhouse. We'll venture outside the Old Quarter, starting at St. Joseph's cathedral, where we'll soon find closely-guarded family recipes for iconic dishes, biting into fluffy banh mi baguette, and slurping on a drool-worthy beef pho noodle soup - all washed down with a freshly squeezed sugarcane juice. Discover why Michelin gave the city a food reputation to boast about, from sizzling bánh xèo pancakes and grilled bun cha pork patties, to wok-fried eel cake and crunchy crab spring rolls. Toss your fork over shredded nom bò papaya salad with beef, served alongside translucent tapioca dumplings.

It’s fast, it’s fragrant, it’s fresh…it’s Vietnamese food! The Hanoi Dusk Tour with A Chef’s Tour is outstanding! I’ve taken about a dozen food tours in countries throughout South America, Central America, Mexico and Asia, and I ALWAYS look for A Chef’s Tour first because of their professional and knowledgable guides. Bring an empty stomach because on the Dusk Food Tour in Hanoi, you’ll have FIFTEEN different tastes at eight stops, ranging from the iconic Vietnamese Pho to some little known, hard to find, secret dishes that only the locals know about. The tour starts in daylight and walks through the busy streets of Hanoi, through the alleys and restaurant districts, until the sun starts to set and the city comes alive. It’s an exciting adventure. What I especially enjoy about A Chef’s tour guides is that they don’t just feed you, they bring the history, the culture, and interesting stories behind all the food items to immerse you in the HOWs and WHYs behind the country’s cuisine. And if you’re fortunate enough to have Lily guide you, you’ll also have a friend by the end of the three hour plus tour, because she’s AMAZING! I knew NOTHING about Vietnamese food and after this tour, I know exactly what to order off the menu at my favorite Vietnam restaurant. I’ve even started making some of the dishes at home because they are so EASY once you know the secrets behind them.
