Before we get started, our tour reflects the local cuisine, & the limitations of street food vendors means we unfortunately cannot cater for every dietary restriction. Here's an honest appraisal for the tour, so no-one is disappointed: ✘ Unsuitable for vegetarian diets sorry, as there would be 3-4 less tastings. ✖️ Unsuitable for severe allergies, halal and celiac diets, due to the risk of traces & cross-contamination. By dusk, Hanoi's streets come alive with the clattering of pans and rise of steam as tasty food bubbles and boils in Vietnam's Northern culinary powerhouse. We'll venture outside the Old Quarter, starting at St. Joseph's cathedral, where we'll soon find closely-guarded family recipes for iconic dishes, biting into fluffy banh mi baguette, and slurping on a drool-worthy beef pho noodle soup - all washed down with a freshly squeezed sugarcane juice. Discover why Michelin gave the city a food reputation to boast about, from sizzling bánh xèo pancakes and grilled bun cha pork patties, to wok-fried eel cake and crunchy crab spring rolls. Toss your fork over shredded nom bò papaya salad with beef, served alongside translucent tapioca dumplings.

5.00My food tour in Hanoi was absolutely fantastic! From start to finish, it was an unforgettable experience. I was lucky enough to have a private tour with my guide, Tú, who was incredibly friendly and passionate about Vietnamese food and culture. Being one-on-one made the experience even more special, as she took the time to answer all my questions. We visited places I would have never found on my own and tried a variety of authentic Vietnamese dishes The pace was relaxed, and the whole experience felt very personal. I can highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Hanoi, especially if you get the chance to explore the city with Tú! Thank you for such an amazing experience, I would do it again anytime!

5.00Sofi took us to restaurants and family’s living rooms for delicious meals that we would have never found on our own. She was so knowledgeable about the food, culture, and history of Hanoi. We could have spent hours talking with her outside of the tour. Sofi communicated everything perfectly. Sofi was a joy to spend the evening with and the food was delicious! You can go wrong with this tour!

5.00We had an amazing tour with Stella! Make sure you definitely come hungry. We did 15 tastings through a nice blend of hidden gem and more popular spots. It was great having Stella as our guide, she provided insight into the food and culture that we’d have missed otherwise. We would definitely take another tour!

5.00Our guide Stella was the best. Patient, interesting, knowledgeable. We had a fabulous time, tried 15 different items (come hungry) and even my 12 yo son loved it. We did the Hanoi dusk trip, and loved it Lily (manager) then helped us organise some onwards travel as well which was very helpful. I’ve done A Chefs Tour trips in Thailand as well, they’re all amazing.

5.00I had such a great food tour in Hanoi with Stella from Chef’s Tour and would highly recommend it. Stella was warm, knowledgeable and just lovely to spend time with. It felt more like being shown around by a local friend than being on a formal tour, which made the whole experience really relaxed and enjoyable. We went to a range of local spots I would never have found on my own, and every dish was fresh, authentic and full of flavour. Stella explained each dish in a simple, engaging way and shared great insights into Hanoi’s food culture and daily life. A genuinely memorable experience. Five stars.

5.00Tom was a super engaging guide with a lot of great info on the food, the culture, and the history of Hanoi. Everything we ate was full of flavour and it was great to walk and see the city. Overall, Tom really made it fun and enjoyable.
