Discover the outer Hauraki Gulf aboard the 41-foot catamaran Pacific Star, with daily departures from Waiheke Island.
We’ll stop at a pest-free island for a guided walk, plus you’ll have opportunities for swimming, snorkelling and stand-up paddleboarding.
Our guide will help you learn about the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park, its islands and people. You’ll spot seabirds and may see dolphins, and even whales, as we glide along with the wind in our sails.
This unique eco adventure is the only day sailing trip offered in the outer gulf and departing from Waiheke Island.
If you’d like to take the helm or help us trim the sails, skipper Bruce will be happy to show you the ropes.
Your itinerary will depend on the wind direction and weather, so that we can give you the most enjoyable and comfortable experience.

5.00We had an amazing day on the water with Captain Bruce. From the minute we got on the catamaran, we felt like family. We sailed from Waiheke Island to some outer islands, stopped for snorkeling, paddle boarding and kayaking. Then we got back on the boat for a delicious lunch and sailed to another island for a bush walk. Bruce showed us different birds and we saw spectacular views. Back on the boat for our sail back to port. I’d recommend this excursion for anyone visiting Waiheke Island.

5.00I had a fabulous day on the Pacific Star, Bruce our very experienced skipper and walking guide was friendly, fun and very knowledgeable. He made us feel welcomed, relaxed and safe, nothing was too much trouble for him. The boat was very well maintained to a high standard, clean and well equipped, having a paddle board, kayak and snorkeling gear on offer. The walk on the uninhabited island of Motuihe was great and very interesting, lots of beautiful birds to listen to and see, as well as amazing views to enjoy! Lunch was delicious with a variety of drinks on offer all day. The whole trip was just what I expected and Bruce being great company was a bonus...he even gave us a chance to helm the boat! The day was over only too quickly...I would love to do it all over again!

5.00This adventure was the perfect way to relax and explore the islands outside of Auckland! There were 6 of us with captain Bruce and first mate Renee. The boat was beautiful, clean and comfortable. We were able to stop at an island and take a nature walk around the island where we sighted native birds and the famous Weta bugs! Next we sailed to our swim/paddle/lunch spot. Luck was a lovely selection of cheeses, meats, spreads and salads. We later set sail and I even took the helm for a few tacks! This was a very pleasurable day!

5.00Although the weather didn’t cooperate, Bruce still made sure we had a great time. He was very knowledgeable about the islands and all of the wildlife. The lunch he made for us was amazing!

5.00What an incredible experience! Water was blue, lunch was delish, vibes were good, and so many birds! Cindy, Bruce, and Heidi were all knowledgeable and fun guides. Do this tour!

5.00This was such a great experience, well worth the money. Swimming in the ocean was so refreshing and it felt like we had the whole gulf to ourselves. Took out the Kayak, which was great fun Nice that there were only a few people on the boat. Felt spacious and that it was still a romantic experience. Nice nature walk The crew and food were amazing

5.00Great trip. Bruce was great on service and how well he handled the boat on his own. When a hat went over the side he was on it. Turned the boat and recovered hat with ease! Thanks for a great trip!

5.00Fantastic day in Waiheke. The boat was beautiful and the hosts were interesting and very friendly. A perfect mix of sailing, walking, and then some swimming/kayaking/snorkeling. Delicious lunch too. Great way to spend your time in Waiheke.
