After a helicopter flight over Abraham Lake, along Elliot peak and above BATUS Canyon, our Heli will drop us off on a ridge of Ernest Ross Peak. After enjoying a 360 view we will start our scramble down alpine meadows until we reach the creek that will take us to the canyon
Our adventure has begun! Together, (with the help of our stoic and capable guides) we’ll make our way down the scramble, through alpine vegetation, rappelling down small waterfalls, and whizzing down natural water slides. From there we’ll find the mouth of the canyon. The creek will disappear into a narrowing opening with 30-meter walls that seem to split the mountain in two. Inside the slot, we rappel down a succession of 3 tall waterfalls all while in a dark, tight rock corridor where we can barely see the sky, almost like a cave. The ambiance is set! We’ll finish the first half of our day with a famous 45-meter waterfall, the equivalent of a 16 story building!

We meet our guests at Rocky Mountain Heli base at 10:30 am. There, we’ll gear up and review our plan for the day. Flight: 5 minutes (you can add in an optional scenic flight). Hike down to the mouth of the Canyon: 30 minutes to 1 hour Canyon descent depending on the size of the group (between 4 hours and 6 hours) Hike out: 30 minutes Shuttle back to the heli base: 10 minutes

5.00Matthiew was an excellent guide, highly knowledgable and personable. In addition to the technical expertise, he is an excellent photographer (even though that was not a required part of the deal!)

5.00Couldn’t recommend highly enough if you love unique adventures and a bit of outdoor exploration! I had a great afternoon in the canyon, led by Gui and Joe, who made me feel so safe, well supported, and encouraged throughout.

5.00Great Canyon Trip!! professional out fit, I had that much fun I have organised to have 200 employees come to do this trip as a team building trip, I've been through the canyon with most of the guides now and they are all awesome they work as a team and create a great environment the guides help keep the participants feeling safe and make sure they enjoy the experience seriously impressive trip from the Heli ride in to the scenic views on the walk out.

5.00If you're searching for the best canyoning tour in the Canadian Rockies, this is it. The experience combines the thrill of canyoning with the breathtaking scenery of a helicopter ride into the heart of the Canadian wilderness. Canyoning allows you to really experience the Rocky Mountains in a much greater depth, seeing enormous waterfalls and towering rock walls carved by ice that most people will never have the privilege of seeing. I work as a caving guide and can honestly say that the professionalism, skills and knowledge of the Banff Canyoning team is outstanding. They are some of the loveliest people I have ever met. I have gotten to know so many amazing guides across the world over the years and these guys really are the best of the best. They go above and beyond to give every single person the best experience possible. This tour is perfect for anyone that wants a once-in-a-lifetime adventure in a remote and beautiful location, and a great addition to any Canadian roadtrip or for those visiting the Banff, Canmore and Jasper areas. I would 100% recommend it to anyone wanting a bucket-list-worthy outdoor adventure in the Rockies. I still can't get over how amazing this day was and would re-live it for the rest of my life if I could :)) big big love to everyone on Gui's team and all the hard work they put in.

5.00We had an outstanding experience and would love to return again. Our guide and photographer were fantastic. They were prepared, knowledgeable, and a pleasure with whom to spend time. We would absolutely recommend their outfit 100%. They are listed as one of the approved guides by the American Canyoneering Association and that means a lot. Whether you have experience or not, use these guys! You will have a blast!

5.00The best canyoning trip in Canada. Highly recommend booking with Banff Canyoning. The guides are world class and the canyons are too. We did the Helicopter trip and also the Cline river adventure the next day. It was a weekend of non stop excitement.
A great tour with an amazing guide that is passionate about the sport!

5.00My wife and I got Zach as our guide and we couldnt have asked for a better person! He was great with explaining, teaching, and answering any questions we had. I liked getting to understand some of the rope systems he used and he was awesome letting me ask and learn about it all! He is fun and great to talk to and has a good sense of humor. Felt like talking to an old friend! You can truly tell he is doing what he loves and you can feel the passion he has for it! His love for the sport is infectious and makes the experience that much for fun and exciting. It truly makes the trip that much better having someone that can truly enjoy every second hes out there as your guide. As for the actual canyoning itself it was a great introduction and even with my wife being a bit unsure at first, we are already talking about doing the heli trip in the future! Felt comfortable and safe the whole time.
