It will be our great pleasure to welcome you to one of the most beautiful sights in Crete, Arolithos Traditional Cretan Village We will walk around the little streets visiting the premises and the museum where you will see the exhibition of our familial collection of old objects. We will visit the two old houses which will travel us back in time. Later on, we will go to the taverna where we will prepare together the delicious dishes of several recipes which we also consume in our weekly diet. Traditional Cretan cuisine is considered to be one of the healthiest in the world. Here you can learn from us the secrets around each dish and participate hands-on in the process. You can create stuffed vine leaves, stuffed vegetables, pork with wine sauce, lamb with green beans, ntakos, tzatziki, and cheese pies. In case you have special dietary needs or allergies then you shall inform us beforehand to adapt the menu to your demands. You will enjoy the dishes you have prepared. Local wine and mineral water are included. The taverna has a panoramic view over the nearest valley and Heraklion City. Your host and our team will be there to make you feel welcome and offer you a precious experience.

5.00Very friendly tour guide with good knowledge of the local village and musueum/crafts. She also taught the cooking class which had a great amount and variety of delicious greek cuisine using lots of lovely olive oil. I was alone on this tour as it was out of season in November but I was very grateful they ran it for me as many of the others had closed for the year. We made dakos, briam meze (i think) with lamb and pork, also tzatziki, stuffed vibe leaves, gemista and cheese pies. All were very lovely. The village was very quiet and peaceful at this time of year and the views across the countryside are spectacular. Thanks to my hosts Evie and Hara. I really enjoyed it 😁

5.00I booked this cooking class as a surprise birthday present for my hubby while on holiday - and it was fabulous! The setting is just super cute and Evy was so lovely and informative throughout the museum tour and the cooking class. We completed several dishes, starters, mains and dessert, alongside lovely local wine and Raki. Getting to eat the food you prepped looking out over the wonderful scenery was just perfect. Thank you so much for an amazing day :)

5.00Alexandria was a fabulous guide! We enjoyed touring the museum & traditional homes to learn about Crete’s history & culture. My whole family (husband & I with early 20s sons) had fun preparing the Cretan dishes. They turned out delicious. It was an extra treat to eat outside & listen to the music from a christening celebration & watch the dancing.

5.00We had so much fun at this class! Our instructor, Alexandria, was very kind, funny, and knowledgeable. First we had a tour of the museum, then we made dolmades, taziki, and a few other delicious dishes! We sat outside to eat, and the view was amazing. Highly recommend.
