Hermanus is world-famous for being the best land-based whale-watching destination on Earth. In Hermanus, whales can often be seen just meters from the shore during the season: June to November.

Calves born: Mainly in August & September.
Best overall months: September & October.
Season span: June to November/early December.
NB: September & October are widely regarded as the best months overall for both quantity and activity of Whales.

We booked him for 5 days as a private touring and airport transfers and he did a fantastic job of explaining very well the areas and making suggestions to us about Cape Town. 5.00the tour was personalised and very professional. Joseph was friendly, informative and a joy to be around. we got a lot of local context from him which helped us understand the places we visited in a deeper sense. he also takes really good photos 😊
