The Highlands Taxi is a taxi ride like no other – and perfect if you want to sit back and enjoy an exhilarating chauffeured experience on a purpose built circuit in a high-speed luxury performance vehicle like the Porsche Cayenne Turbo. You (and up to 3 of your friends or family, because the more the merrier!) can sit back and enjoy an exhilarating taxi ride around our world-class, international-standard built racing circuit. This is 4.1 km of heart-racing, unadulterated fun – all brought to you by our expert, professional drivers. At only $129 for 4 people, it is exceptional value for money! Lap 1 is a guided tour of the 4.1km Highlands international-standard race track, where you will learn all about the features of the circuit, the control tower and a fascinating behind the scenes look at the makings of Highlands. Lap 2 is at the speed you need – this can be catered to your liking and reach up to 180 km/hr.

5.00Wow, just a super fun experience. We booked the 1pm session on Sunday, 3 of us not knowing what to expect. Our driver (Steve) hope I got that right, he was super funny, informative and a great driver. After an info lap off we went, such a smooth and comfy ride you weren’t throwin around the seat. Got a lot of smiles and laughter, there is a phone mount on the windscreen you can put your phone up on to record the ride which I think is awesome. Such a great experience, we tacted on mini golf after the ride which was half price when we signed in at reception. Also check out the loos with a view. Will definitely be back, thanks to the team at Highlands they were awesome.

5.00The Highlands Taxi was a very unique family experience - we all loved it. The museum houses some automotive royalty and pleasant surprises racing nerds. The special toilets are lol.

5.00The whole setup exceeded expectations. The museum, Wall of Fame, and virtual reality exhibitions are world-class and tell a wonderful story of NZ motor sport and our motor sport legends. We did two laps in the Ferrari with Damon which was an experience not to be forgotten. This facility is a credit to Tony Quinn and his team. We were also lucky to see Gisbergen and Stanaways' 2023 Bathurst-winning Chevy arrive and be put on display.

5.00We dropped in here on a quiet Wednesday afternoon, not really knowing what to expect. We were greeted warmly and recommended the “taxi” ride for our family of 4. Shortly after Steve turned up in the taxi - a Porsche Cayenne - and off we went with our F1 mad daughter in the front passenger seat, ready to lap it up (pun intended). Steve took us on a slow lap of the park, providing heaps of information about the history, design & use of Highlands. Then after setting up our daughter’s phone to record everything, it was time for our second lap, putting the Porsche through its paces. It was absolutely thrilling, going at close to 200kms an hour, screeching around corners and almost launching over the bridge. So much fun, and Steve was a fantastic driver - very funny but also so professional- we definitely felt safe in his hands. After that excitement we took a look through the museum and had some afternoon tea overlooking the track. The cheese rolls were the best we’d tried in all of Southland. A visit to Highlands is not complete until you visit the loos with a view. The urinals have to be seen to be believed! Would highly recommend a visit to Highlands and jumping in one of their taxis!

5.00Steve is an absolute legend! From the get go when shaking his welcoming hand, his knowledge cruising the track delivered with such passion, like talking about a brother & his hobby. And what an impressive hobby this park is. Thank you Steve for such a thrilling, entertaining drive. Very refreshing and not once did we feel uncomfortable....at 180km/h! Loved it! Especially the aliens! Cheers Steve!

5.00Booked the Porsche Taxi while we were there. Steve was the driver and what a guy he is - informative, knowledgeable, friendly and told us all about the history of the place during the 1st lap and then prepared us for the 2nd high speed lap. It was such an excellent experience that I feel like going there again (which I will for sure). The whole staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Everyone made us feel comfortable with their smiling attitude. The loos with a view are a must see as well - have never seen anything like it before. Thanks all and will recommend this to anyone who has a passion for motorsports should do this 2 lap around the track as a TO DO while in Queenstown NZ.

5.00Booked for the Ferrari hot laps, but track too wet. We were offered the Porsche Taxi instead which we did. First lap round Steve was great, Informative and then even better for the second lap. It’s a must visit and the loos were great as well.
