We’re Nam, Van, Lisa, and Julia—the owners of Joyful Adventures, a group of young locals who speak English fluently, each holding a Professional Tour Guide Certificate. Having called Hanoi home for over twenty years, we have a deep love for this city and all its hidden gems.
Our goal is to explore the ancient 2,700-year history of the Vietnamese people, with their tradition of nation-building and defense, along with legendary stories that enrich the Vietnamese soul. To discover the everyday material life of the locals and the rich spiritual life reflected in ancestor worship, as well as the practices of visiting temples and pagodas among the Vietnamese. And to experience the fascinating blend of old Hanoi’s architecture, the mix of Eastern and Western cultures, and the fresh vibes of modern Hanoi.
NOTE: Tours booked from February 14–22, 2026 during the New Year (Tet Holiday) are subject to a holiday surcharge of 10 euros (300.000 Dong) per guest, payable directly to the tour guide

5.00We started our first day in Hanoi with our walking tour guide Julia. Thanks to her we understood precisely what history is hidden behind this amazing place. On top of that, she revealed to us the hidden streets where the ordinary tourist doesn't look :) Julia is very knowledgeable and her English is excellent, she has a fantastic sense of humour. We had an opportunity to taste some new fruits and snacks. I would love to recommend this tour and Julia to everyone who would like to see the city from the backstage. Thank you x

5.00Julia was an excellent guide! So knowledgable and friendly. I also appreciated that she wanted to get to know the group as much as she wanted to share everything she knows about Hanoi and Vietnam’s history as a whole. I would really like to squeeze in another tour before I leave Hanoi!
