We’re Nam, Van, Lisa, and Julia—the owners of Joyful Adventures, a group of young locals who speak English fluently, each holding a Professional Tour Guide Certificate. Having called Hanoi home for over twenty years, we have a deep love for this city and all its hidden gems.

Our goal is to explore the ancient 2,700-year history of the Vietnamese people, with their tradition of nation-building and defense, along with legendary stories that enrich the Vietnamese soul. To discover the everyday material life of the locals and the rich spiritual life reflected in ancestor worship, as well as the practices of visiting temples and pagodas among the Vietnamese. And to experience the fascinating blend of old Hanoi’s architecture, the mix of Eastern and Western cultures, and the fresh vibes of modern Hanoi.

We had an amazing tour with Julia. She Had so many information about the History, culture and people of Vietnam. Julia was an excellent guide! So knowledgable and friendly. I also appreciated that she wanted to get to know the group as much as she wanted to share everything she knows about Hanoi and Vietnam’s history as a whole. I would really like to squeeze in another tour before I leave Hanoi!

I absolutely loved the Highlights and Secrets of Hanoi Old Quarter Through Train Street tour. My guide, Vân, was truly exceptional. She shared fascinating insights about the Old Quarter, local traditions, and hidden spots I never would have found on my own. The highlight for me was the old bridge — incredibly impressive and full of history. Vân explained its background so vividly that I could really appreciate its significance and architectural beauty. Walking across it was one of the most memorable moments of my stay in Hanoi. Vân was warm, knowledgeable, and always attentive, making the tour both fun and meaningful.

I had a great time with Lisa. She entertained me with stories of Hanoi's history and city facts. We covered everything listed on the tour, and even got to see two trains on train street.
