Belfast Castle
Belfast Castle is located in the Cave Hill area of north Belfast. It was built in the 1860s and is one of the city's most famous landmarks. For generations, Cave Hill has been synonymous with Belfast, with its imposing outline visible throughout the city. The landmark, named for the five caves located on the side of the cliffs, contains a wealth of natural, archaeological and historical features, including Belfast Castle. Its most famous feature, known locally as Napoleon's Nose, is believed to have been the inspiration for Jonathan Swift's novel, Gulliver's Travels. The park is home to the Cave Hill Adventurous Playground, archaeological sites, Visitor Information Area in Belfast Castle. The estate contains landscaped gardens and mature mixed woodland and offers superb views of the city from a variety of vantage points. It is home to many different species of wildlife, including long-eared owls, sparrowhawks and Belfast's rarest plant; the town hall clock.

Our guide, Stevie, was very knowledgeable and entertaining. He adapted the itinerary to our preferences and we had a great time overall. Doing it in a black cab is a nice touch.

Gerard took us on a very visual and historical tour of Belfast! We learned many thing that we had only heard a snippet about in the news during the 1980's -90's in the US. It was interesting to see the various areas, the murals and museum. Thank you for a memorable trip back in time!

Three of us took the 5 hour Black Taxi tour of Belfast with Brendan as our driver/guide. We saw the dry dock where the Titanic was built, Belfast Castle and much more. For me, the highlight of the tour was that I finally understand the conflict between Catholics and Protestants and the role of the British in Northern Ireland. The murals painted by both sides are haunting. Brendan presented both sides eloquently. This tour is a must. We could not have been more satisfied.

We went out with Mick for a 6 hour Game of Thrones tour. He was remarkable with his knowledge not only of the sights and scenes for the tour, but we got a great education about Northern Ireland. This tour company is a MUST to book. Skip the cruise ship tours and go with these folks, you wont be disappointed.
