Enjoy a magnificent and unforgettable hiking route to discover the new volcano of La Palma.

•Duration: 3:30-4h, round trip

•Distance: 8 kilometers

•Difficulty: medium

The route is now approximately 8km, duration of 3:30-4h, and with a slope of -300m/+300m.

We get much closer to one of the volcano's craters (previously about 400m from a crater, now 1m from the edge of another of the many craters it has).

The ground is still volcanic ash.

Meeting point: La Palma Outdoor (C/ Antonio Pino Pérez, Nº1 in El Paso) at 08:45

Due to weather conditions, the route can be modified and made linear to the Las Manchas neighborhood. The duration would be the same, the only difference would be that the difference in elevation would be +100m/-600m and the distance would be 6.5 km. They would be dropped off again at the La Palma Outdoor office.

Bebe led the trip really well in difficult conditions. There was a strong wind and rain and it was very cold but she ensured the group had plenty of stops so that no one felt pushed too hard. It was very exciting to get so close to the craters and there were some fantastic views out over the coastline. The area is kept pristine and treated with great respect as a pure and uncontaminated environment. The weather conditions made it quite challenging, but we were very glad to have visited.
A very interesting and unforgettable experience.

Bebe is a very good guide. Knew a lot about the volcanism in general and about the new volcano. Involves the visitors with questions. She also kept a close eye on us to see if we could keep up with the pace. I really appreciated that. All in all a nice pleasant guide.

Small group hiking experience. We had a round trip along with the recent 2021 eruptions till the crater. All remainings are conserved in its original status. We even saw some houses are half buried by the volcano ashes. The scenery is amazing. Our guide is very experienced and willing to answer all kinds of questions. 4 hours with quite a few breaks should be suitable for anyone who doesn’t have mobility problems.highly recommend!
A most worthwhile informative and interesting excursion. Highly recommended.

During the walk of +/-3 hours we got a lot of information about the origin of the island, the different types of volcanoes and how they work. The omens of the eruption, types of lava flows, the consequences, geographically and socially, everything was discussed in a very clear way. This excursion is really recommended

Thank you Juan for the great tour, very knowledgeable. This hike is not an easy hike, the conditions were hard with high winds. La Palma is a amazing island with amazing people. Great hiking experience, and great volcano experience as well!

Walk was beautiful! Environment of the volcano was even more beautiful than we imagined. The volcano was still smoking, impressive... Guide told interesting background information in (almost) 4 languages. Very successful!

The hike is really great, not to mention the crazy beautiful scenery. But one should be aware of the following things: 1. Those (like us) who like to photograph will not have fun here. You learn an incredible amount about the origin of the island, but these lectures always take place in relatively boring places where there are few motives. You then run past the real spots, like a house half-swallowed by the lava. 2. You don't even have 5 minutes at the crater. 3. Less all lectures, less than 3 hours remain for 8 kilometers. For us it was pure hustle and bustle and did not give us the opportunity to take photos or really perceive this insanely mystical place. If none of this is a problem, I can highly recommend the tour. For us, however, it was unfortunately completely inappropriate.
