You will learn about the many layers of Dresden's history through medieval, renaissance and baroque times, it's fate during WW2, and of rebuilding during the East German GDR times. The Theaterplatz of Dresden is where the city comes together to make its voice heard. Dominated by the imposing Semper Opera, the square is enclosed by the Royal Palace, the Cathedral and Old Masters Gallery and considered by many to be one of the most beautiful squares of Europe.

We loved our tour with Karen. She gave us a long-term history of Dresden and also a current view of changes in the last twenty years. She was very knowledgeable and told the most interesting stories in an entertaining way. We were mesmerized the whole 2 1/2 hours we were with her.
