This tour covers the most popular landmarks of Old San Juan during the golden hour. At this time you will enjoy beautiful photo-ops of the old town’s beautiful historic architecture. The walk ends in the early evening near restaurants, bars and souvenir shops.
Along the way you will learn about the old town's history and the Puerto Rican culture. The tour is conducted by professional local guides certified by the Puerto Rico Tourism Company.

Plaza Colon
This Plaza is the perfect location to learn about the colonial history of Puerto Rico. Some of the questions that will be answered are: why Puerto Rico was so important for Spain? How Puerto Rico became a US Territory and how do locals feel about it now? We will see the Columbus Monument, the Tapia Theater and kilometer zero plaque.

5.00Carlos was a very pleasant man and gave a great description of the sites & its history. Great experience! The walk was at a moderate pace & Carlos included tips on restaurants. He also was good at reaching out to us with derails for the meeting & places to park for those driving.
Melanie made our whole trip to Old San Juan!!

I especially appreciated how she connected the past to Puerto Rico’s current political landscape in such a clear and engaging way. 2.00We did the **Historic Old San Juan Sunset Walking Tour** with Patria Tours, and our guide was Antonia. The locations he took us to were beautiful, and walking through Old San Juan at sunset was definitely a nice experience. However, the guiding experience itself could have been much better. His explanations were not very clear, and it was difficult to understand the information he was trying to share. His accent was quite hard to follow, and the speaker he used was not loud enough, so many parts of the tour were missed because we simply couldn’t hear him well. He also spent a lot of time asking questions like “What do you think happened here?” before explaining, which made the flow confusing — and even when he did explain, the details were not very clear. Additionally, for the price we paid, we expected a more engaging and easy-to-follow experience. The tour felt a bit expensive for what was offered and could definitely be priced a little lower. Overall, the places and timing were good, but the clarity, guiding style, and value for money need improvement

5.00This tour was excellent! Our tour guide, Melanie, was very informative and gave us a great mini-history lesson on PR and its complicated past. She was enthusiastic, friendly, and clearly passionate about sharing her home and its culture. I came away wanting to know and appreciate more. Loved it! The tour was not strenuous (thankfully) but covered a lot of ground and was just the right length. We had a lovely dinner at one of the recommended restaurants after the tour. Very pleased with this experience!

5.00What an amazing tour experience! Melanie is exceptional and was an amazing guide! Definitely book with her. Her love and pride for her country made the experience with her even better. I enjoyed every minute of it and it didn’t feel like 2 hours 😊 Melanie is also super sweet and accommodating. I had a ladt minute addition to the tour and was able to pick up my friend from the hotel and join up with the group even after the tour started. You just have to communicate this BEFORE the tour begins. She will not be able to answer her phone while the tour is ongoing… hello! Just plan accordingly folks and we do get a text message from her at least 45-60 minutes before the tour starts. We also got some great pics! Such a lovely experience and I highly highly recommend Melanie if you can tour with her ❤️🤍💙😊
